Regular gym was closed today so had to train elsewhere.

Entry # 15 - Wednesday 6 February 2008

No squatsies today because I wore myself out playing soccer and touch for a couple hours before hand. Only meant to be my light day so not really an issue.

Incline DB Bench Press

I would have liked to have gone to 27.5 like I'd planned but this gym only had 29.5 as the next weight increment. Was glad to crank out 25x5x3 though. Confident I'll easily so the 27.5s next week.

Deadlift

Again, after the first rep I though there was no way possible to do all five, but they kept coming up. The last rep was the hardest I've ever done.

The rest of the time I tried a whole bunch of exercises to see which would hit my lats the best. I'm having real trouble feeling them! It's really pissing me off how weak they are. What are the best ways to get them up to speed?

When I first started caring about my lats I did close grip underhand pulldowns, they did a really good job for me, you can feel the muscles throughout the whole exercise if you are using them to do the exercise, then you feel a nice tight squeeze at the bottom of the movement

Not a bad workout, hit everything I tried. The last rep on the Bench Press was a toughie, but the first two went up pretty easily.

If you didn't insist on slendering down before bulking up you wouldn't be in that predicament :lol: .

I've just got back from checking out Powerhouse gym, try stopping me if I sign up there!

Haha yeh I know, dieting while still trying to increase weight is all good though :D:D... just a fustrating process lol

Did these while I waited for my spotter because it was the only exercise I had planned that didn't use bench press muscles. Unfortunately I still felt tired. And because I had to rush due to the late gym opening I was rushing everything, so...

Really gutted not to make this. I feel that if there weren't any delays and me having to rush things I would have made x5. I'm not sure what I'll do Friday. I'm tempted to just pretend I got it and try 70x3, but I think I'll just try again and repeat a week.

I really shouldn't have tried to go for 25s this time. Too tired, rushed and shouldn't have risked my shoulder after feeling the twinge earlier. I'm sure come Friday I'll be able to get 25x5 though.

The uphill march contines unabated with my deadlift. Only went up 2.5kgs due to last week's difficulty. The last rep was again a grinder, but I'm sure I'll be able to hit 125x5 next week.
