Hey team, these are a couple of pics taken at NABBA Counties Manukau 2007. It was my second comp and I placed second, but there was only a handful of competitors. I feel my weakest part would be my shoulders - which seem very resistant to growth  Quad need some slimmin/shapin , but that's what you get coming fromm a triathlete background.

Aiming to compete 2008 - Counties and (hopefully) Nationals. Some feedback would be great. No trainer this year - she left our gym. So I'm goin it solo

Shame that was such a small show (bigger than mine in May though  ) - I was going to do that one, but enjoyed being off the comp diet and being able to train heavy again after Aucklands in May.

You look good, great back. I'm trying to grow my shoulders and bring in my legs too.

What do you enjoy most Tri's or Figure? Both very different and demanding sports!

:ditto: nice back! I went to this show, and even though the numbers were low, the quality of the competitors was pretty high. Legs schmegs.. you've got a nice sweep in your quads on that side chest ;) You look great.

I'm in awe at how you ladies can pose and be graceful in the heels on stage.. awesome.

Thanks P & W!! Working on more definition for this year. Just have to remember that chocolate is not one of the basic food groups

Hey Evie, yeah I watched the North Harbour show - a whole two of you!! But, you were a clear winner by miles!!

Much prefer BB to Triathlon. BB is time consuming and requires more dedication, but is actaully less time. When training for Half Iron Man whole weekends were solely training - 1-2 km swim, followed by a long cycle (2-3 hours) or a run (anything up to 21km). It just really draining and really anti social.

What are you doin to grow some shoulders?

Be honest 2guns....the venue sucked. I should be grateful my supporters ever came to another show. They froze their asses off!!!

Think you mean the Aucklands? In May, it was just me and Harriette (short class) and we are both very different, even down to posing styles so not much of a comparrission. But thanks for the complement!

I'm not telling you what I'm doing for shoulders... aren't we in the same class???

Nah, right now I'm trying everything, really tricking it up, lots of heavy work on high carb days (every off season day  is a high carb day he he), with a training partner who pushes me hard, and doing things like drop sets at the end of work outs to really kill - no work out it ever the

same. But right now rest is so important - hate not being lean, but it's rest and grow or do cardio to stay lean and not grow... vanity has to be pushed to the side :shifty:

By the way, so cool to have another competing chick on board and posting pics! Yay!

Haha, nice Evie. Aren't you open now?? No seriously, is good to have others to bounce ideas off. Look forward to watchin your progress 2008!!

Nope not open yet May didn't count as it was not a 'class' (you need 3 to call it a class) and North Harbours are the first comp of 2008 season, so stil Novice for 2008 although I may do Open or even play around and do Physique

Looking good, I would say you need a little more arm and shoulder development, a bit of hamstring and glute tie in to match those quads.

Glutes and Hams coming along well. But, any suggestions on how to get my dam shoulders to grow would be much appreciated. I was doin shoulders twice a week - with minimal success.
