ever since i have joined this new gym (westwave fitness centre) all i seem to get is weird looks from members, it really pisses me off especially when you catch them staring at you and you give them a wave and they just totally ignore you or turn away.. are people just pricks? or what? do others have this problem? or have experienced it before?

this isnt just the members but the staff there aswell.

i think is a good thing, feed off it too!

i liked going to gyms for a casual workout ,having ya program set,and feeding off the ppl watching you as you hit set after set with massive weights with no resting and 100% form, then walking out after only about 30 mins max!

lol some times i think ppl were still standing in the same place from when the workout started

go hard big J

My wife sits around 7-8% body fat and now that summer is here she hates wearing short or sleeveless tops when we go out. Even going to the supermarket she gets stared at and sly comments made behind her back from all kinds of people. For some reason people do not like to see women with muscles or just a bloody good body.

It's a compliment! Come on, you don't work out not to be looked at! At least you're not being looked at cause you're out of shape! Of course it depends on the type of looking and who's looking - having every move watched by the gym weirdo is not cool!

Nah - once again it will be a case of the "green-eyed monster" ... if the looks or comments are from a women she will be jealous of her (i.e. wishing she looked like your wife) - from a guy it will be that they are pissed off that their wife doesn't look like yours!

 people in the know have a totally different opinion, whenever i see a female with muscles im very impressed, takes a lot of hard work to look good some people just forget that (usually the fat lazy ones)

i think that theres two types of people who will stare. those who look at you and admire your physique and what you have achieved.they usually approach you and ask for advice or they'll keep looking at your techniques and learn from you.or complement you

then we have those f@#kwits who just stare at you, then turn around and tell their mates that they don't want to be too muscley just becos thier jeleaus of you. that really pisses me off sumthing cronic and gets me fired up for more 400ib squats

I can handle people staring in the gym. I take it as a compliment. I do the same when I see someone who has a good training style, and I want to pick up some tips.

I cant handle some of stares I get in public though, or the yelling from car windows, or woman in their mid 40s grabbing my arms, or the "I reckon I could take you cuz I used to do karate/boxing/some sport that makes me sound tough 5 years ago, and If I hadnt hurt my hand/leg/toe then I would have been a national/world/ego champ" line I get in town.

The pretty girls are a bonus tho :lol::lol:
