High reps

The number of reps depends also on the muscle or group being exercised. For example, calves can do higher reps as compared to say biceps. This is just fundamentally how those muscles are made, and the purpose they were intended to be used for. You can't escape this simply physiological reality -so reps must be put into context of the muscle/group being exercised as oppsoed to generalising rules.

This is true but it is also benificial to hypertrophy to train muscles in a way to which the are not accustom to. For example calfs are walked on all day with moderate weight and very high volume so it would make sence to train them with maximal load and moderate reps from time to time to.

morning,

i think theres a lot of factors that come into the (rep range)

the goal in hand. size/ shape

also if one is super setting and how each rep is performed too.

if one did a set of 10 reps and just rep ed it out it could take about 30 seconds, but if the same reps were done smoth controlled and contracting the muscle on each rep it may take a 1min 30 sec so there for the load was on the muscle for longer ,Also dont forget muscles cant count they only know load.

one thing i teach my client is to work the muscle 4 ways in each rep.lift under control(positive) then (contract) and then control the down wid(negative) then (flextion) at the bottom of movement to stretch the muscle to it full length
