On the "cut" for summer?

Summers nearly upon us... Most of us would have been sweating it out in the weight room over winter now its time to trim up abit.

Im interested to hear what changes to diet, exercize etc ppl are making?

Me personally am not a big calorie counter but am uping the protein and petering off the carbs as the day progresses with 1-2 cardio sessions a day (like maybe a morning HIIT sesh & a evening walk)

:)

Yep, I'm slowly reducing the carbs, and increasing the cardio. I'm not doing anything particularly scientific or calculated, but generally trying not to have more than 25-35g of carbs in a meal. Some meals I won't have carbs at all (especially if I haven't been active at the time).

I'm experimenting with different forms of cardio in the morning (my weight training is in the evenings). Not a big fan of long, slow cardio, so I tried running and HIIT sprints. These give me sore shins though, so I've just started swimming instead.

since where on the subject of cutting, you say that you need to increase protein and less carbs, so what sort of food is good while cutting, currently going through a bulking phase but may as well ask now so i know when the time comes.

I'd suggest lowering your calorie intake than focus too specifically on what foods to avoid.

I'm doing a no-carb, mild carb & re-feed type diet at the moment.

Non-workout days I up my protein & have no carbs (apart from fiberous ones such as veges... I also have a bit of fruit).

Mild workout days (no squats or deads) I'll have a balance of carbs & protein but cut the carbs before 6pm.

Heavy workout days I'll have a little more carbs with each meal than on mild workout days... I won't have carbs with my last meal though.

I'll also try & get more fats in on non-workout days as I'm getting no low-GI carbs... I'll eat salmon & lean steak on these days.

On mild & heavy workout days I'll try to stick with chicken & tuna.

So far I've been unorganised & haven't stuck to this as well as I should.

I'm on to it though.
