Pseudonym
He was a bit of a mess toward the end, eh? I'm not particularly sqeamish, but there's one shot of a thick sticky strand of bloody drool hanging from his lower lip that's etched in my mind. It almost put me off my post-workout meal! Almost.Poor bugger came so close to winning too.
Mo250
well i hope that shane's manager learnt a lesson today.
Agent
yeah, he was a real mess by the end. He was probably lucky he lasted as long as he did (of course not quite long enough) I think he would have been taken out earlier if it hadn't been for the stoppages mid round due to tape, the cuts, and wet floor, it allowed him a couple of breaks when he was looking pretty shaky. The slippery ring was really poor, it looked like those guys were trying to fight on ice.
Cammo
It was a good fight - pitty about the loss though. All that slipping around on the canvas was rediculous.
AgentOrange
i reckon he at least won a few rounds in there... the nigerians head must be bloody solid coz shane did conect nicely a few times...good on him anyway hes a fu*ken unit all the same.. justa shame hes so prone to geting cuts. Jordana-Jaz
Yip I watched it... Poor guy, but I thought he was so cocky, I was actuallly going for friday anyway.... but when he lost I then felt sorry for the dude
Marcus
It was interesting listening to the commentators at the end of the fight. They reckon Cameron won't make it in the US as his eyes get cut & bleed easily. Looking at the difference between Cameron & the nigerian at the end of the fight this may be true. deeepsouth_nz
Needed to follow up that jab with something else and when he got a few good ones going, not step into the Nigerian who then promptly leaned on Shane and tied him up. Might have almost been better if the ref had stopped it for blood to save some face (excuse the pun)?! In response to Jordanas comment above - in my experience in working with sports people, there is a difference in having confidence in ones self and being cocky. I think this is misunderstood by the general public about many an athlete. You need to have the self confidence to compete otherwise you shouldnt be there in the first place because you are not at the right place mentally. It is a part of being totally prepared for whats to come.....
Ice_Man
I had $10 on Friday to win with my M8 :pfft:. It was a good fight besides the extremely wet surface which came down to poor planning and allot of blood and sweet. If the surface was not slippery I believe Friday could of cleaned up in the 9th round, I think it was right when he had Cameron not knowing what day it was but slipped over letting cameron go. Carmon, great fighter just not enough experience with the big boys of boxing.
Mike Zero
Pretty gutting.. He had that imo if he lasted the final round.
poos_n_wees
Aww really felt for Shane Cameron - he was a mess by the end of the night. Friday was really good, you could see the difference in experience when they fought. He played up Cameron's cuts (umm EW?) to his advantage. I wasn't convinced Cameron had the fight though if he wasn't knocked out - some commentators annoy me with how biased they can be. The slippery ring was embarassing! 2guns
as far as the slippery ring goes, it was still an even playing field so shit happens.
Agent
Cameron seems to be wearing most the blame for being arrogant when it's more his team that does all the talking and don't show respect eg. calling Tua out and saying he's scared etc. Maybe this will keep them quiet now so Cameron can get on with doing the talking in the ring. Unfortunately I can't see him going too far in the states, I think he'll struggle once he starts fighting some of the higher ranked Americans.I agree with you, poos_n_wees, those commentators were ridiculously biased, for the first half of the fight every punch Cameron threw was called a devastating shot even when they just went off the gloves, and every time Friday got in a good shot, Cameron "just brushed it off" or some such call. BANG
well it was his first real opponent hes had 19 journeymen fighters coming into this one so not really the prep u would wont as the comentators sed he bit off more than he could chew managers fault on that one.hope his confidence in himself hasnt suffered 2 much!and maybe he should reconsider being a toe to toe fighter and standing right in front not the best style when prone to cuts! Marcus
This wasn't the first time he has finished a fight with bad cuts either is it?
