Hi there

after constantly reading what others have to say, I figured I should join up and introduce myself. I work in the area of I/O Psychology with a specific focus on performance psychology (in business and sporting sectors). Have always been into sports and initially got into the gym to gain strenth for back country sking. Now i'm hooked and due to watching my fiance (Mike D) compete and train others, have decided to give it a go. Not sure I could handle the figure high heals so am aiming for physique but will have to see how it goes in terms of building the muscle mass.

Better get back to the books but will be in touch re progress....

Hi Gretchen, Jason here.

Did you and Mike have a good feed on Sun?

I had heaps of junk food on Sun, 2 hamburgers, 1/2 large pizza, a few slices of chocolate cake, some ice cream and other little bits and pieces :pfft:

Do you want some car mats? lol i know Mike dosen't want them in his xr8 but you can have them if you want.

Hi Jason

Yip Mike ate heaps!! Both on Sunday and Monday. Quite funny to watch as he's eating stuff he normally doesn't even like. However, I think he's back to normal now.

Pseudonym

Performance psychology is pretty straight forward really. I look into why people may not be performing at the best and then develop a plan to help them achieve thier goals (and that of the organisation). If it's done in a organisaitonal setting it can be anything that is holding them back (e.g. boss, job structure, lack of appropriate knowledge, skills or abilities, stress, work/life problems, poor match with the organisational goals, organisational structure etc). In a sports setting it's more to do with an intrinsic belief of oneself, one's ability and that of the competition. It's also to do with the attitude that peope take to the competition and how they channel that .... anyway, i could go on for hours but won't bore you all.

Thanks for all the welcomes

Cheers G

Good to have you here gmm hope the board is helpfull and good luck with your goals. I have a close friend that is a close friend of Mikes, I assume you are comming with Mike the the Naki show? I will get Phil to introduce me to the you and Mike or I will introduce myself.

Hi Dumbelldog

I didn't end up going to the Nakis as had too much study to get through. However, Mike said it was awesome so I might see you there next year. If you come to the South Islands make sure you introduce yourself then.

Cheers Gretchen

I was at Blair and Wendy's last night and they said they know you and Mike, they're building their house just around from Mike's. Blair took me out in his Maserati Quattroporte last night  , man it's fast

Gidday Gretchen I had a good chat with Mike, he is a very nice and approchable guy but I guess you know that a. The show went very well and all of the competitors enjoyed it, that was great for Phil and Chantelle. Bye for now.

Hey jason

the pizzas there are good that's for sure. I'm more into steak but can be tempted to the odd piece of pizza now and then. You back training now?

Have you seen photos of the guy Mike and I were talking to you about?

Dumbelldog - I imagine both Mike and I will go to the Nakis next year. Sounds like the small town (city?) put on a great show and the vibe is very cool from what Mike was saying. He really enjoyed helping the odd person etc.

See you next time

yea, Mike showed me pics of him the other day, Steve Jones i think. Trying to get back into training, but i've just started at a new job today and finding it hard to get time for training, but once i've settled in there i should be able to work around it.
