maybe one can still seem to maintain good size and shape by doing little or no direct working of the bicep but using them only as secondary muscles to other lifts.

I now work my bicep directly after 2 years of an injury, but found over that time that I didnt loose much size or strength in them.

IMO

you will get bigger biceps from just doing hard back work compared to just doing hard bicep work...

but, if you do them both you will get better results.

:D

in personal experience I seldom do curlz and my biceps are prob one of my most developed muscles...

I just started doing curls last week while I rehab a knee injury. My arms are puny in comparison with the rest of my body, think I got 18 inch arms and 31 inch quads. Was using 45kg for about 6 sets of 6-8 with pretty strict form on the EZ bar. No idea what to do, haha.

I only do limited isolation bicep & tricep work these days & I haven't noticed any difference in gains - if you're doing good compounds for your chest, back & shoulders, your bi's & tri's should be getting a good hammering during these.
