HOG
Well it’s not to long and we will all be at the NZFBB Nationals. I hope they drug test all winners in each class. You ask why, well the shows I have been to this year has had an increase of Body Builders on the gear more so in the novice men class and also in the open men and women physique. A good example was at the CNI.
Dumbelldog
Well that's what they're ment to do, aren't they? I wish it was sorted out and made obvious what they are doing once and for all! So every body knows. I agree there has been a marked increase in the number of competitors (possible new competitors) on the gear.
michaelk
I wouldn't hold your breath on all classes being tested....Masters Women over 45 etc. There is a financial impedement to making this possible, or even realistic.Bear in mind last year the top 3 of the Overall were tested so as to remove the incedence of a person placing 2nd in that part of the competition not being awarded the title if the first place getter was stripped of the title as has happened previously. waldo
I see whoever competes at the Nationals has to sign a declaration they are doing so drug-free. I wonder how much water those declarations would hold!
HOG
Well if they don’t test all the classes then why have bloody testing in the first place. One thing the NZFBB should look at is get all competitors go and get a blood test done about 4 weeks out and bring the test papers with them to the registration to see if they are clean. Why 4 weeks, as it takes time for the testosterone reading to come through.Cost is what your doctor will charge you. This way the cheats will not get in. HOG
I just find a loophole with the above. so the one below will solve itYour doctor will have to do the blood test and not the Diagnostic Lab as you can get your friend who’s clean to take your paper in and give blood under your nameThe NZFBB will have to nominate doctor’s in the cities that do take blood in house

Then, conducting tests to see how permeable the paper being signed is, we can begin to see how much water/juice said paper can hold.My pick is not very much at all!Supry Sos for Mr NZ! Big_J
I agree on testing all class winners, it often crosses my mind whether the guy next to me (even though teenage men) is clean or not, or if he used diuretics for the show.. this federation is a natural one and all i want is a level playing field. diamond
i think it would be a good idea to ditch the testing at competitions and conduct a certain amount of random tests with no prior warning throughout the year, especially in the period between the nats and the first comp of the next year.Any refusal to submit a sample means a ban.If all the competitors who had competed and placed in the top 3 at a regional or the nats in the 12 months previous went into a random name pool and say 20 or 30 names were drawn and those athletes tested then that would sort out a lot of the drug problem, and see a lot of guys ( and possibly a few women as well ) sitting out a 2 year ban.Thats one way that i think would certainly work as it does not give anyone a chance to get anything out of their system because the tests are conducted in such a way that no one would know when the testing guys might be coming knocking. What do you think MT ? MUSCLEROIDS
MasterTel can you clear up this for us please.Have the NZFBB accepted the new WADA policy yet???As I have heard up here in Auckland from a big mouth that they have not accepted and the NZ drug agence are not happy that the NZFBB has no policy in place. So the way I see it is that there will be NO TESTING AT THE NZFBB NATIONALS 2007HOG I do like your idea for the testing as in the USA the NPC get the competitors to pay for there lie detector test 4 weeks out from the show date. MasterTel
The Executives were asked about 6 weeks ago (after our last meeting) via email whether we were in favour of the new policy.I, like all the other replies I saw, indicated my full support for the policy.Diamond - your idea of focusing more on out-of-contest testing is a very good one. Doing more testing in general is a nice thought, but as always it will come down to cost.

waldo
everyone whos serious takes the gear if we banned them all we would have thooth picks on stage do we really want that i think not :nod:I might as well start an arguement properly here.Wheels, judging by your statement all natural bodybuilders are toothpicks. I disagree with this. Supry Sos for example is a bodybuilder who brings a great package to the stage. Lean, symetrical, good size. He is also very strong. He is also a natural bodybuilder who is one of the picks for Mr NZ...even last years' Mr NZ Mike Kingsnorth has given Supry good wraps on this website. He is proof that not all natural bodybuilders are 'tooth picks'. I don't like statements like yours for a number of reasons, least not you imply that you must use gear to be competitive. How about the fact that it is far better to train for years to maximise your natural potential before jumping on the sauce? How about the fact that the strogest guys I've ever met and trained with have been natural...Nigel Avery for example.Instead of making statements like your initial statement how about contributing to the arguement. My two cents. Please feel free to keep abusing me if you like.
ED_AISH
I agree with you waldo. I know some really good natural guys, that have got there with pure hard work.
Pseudonym
Wheels, you're welcome to share your point of view, but not your insults. This is the second time you've been warned about abuse... strike three, and you're out. That goes for everyone else as well. This is an important discussion - let's keep it clean and focused. 8)
