Well yeah, believe what ya like, but man, it was some freaky shit!! I don't know how she does it, but ya gotta see it to believe it!!

And hey, it got me out of the house for a night, and that's gotta be a good thing! AND I was clever enough to remember to take my protein shake with me, so no crazy psycho moments from me!

Well not that night anyway, but I did have my grumpy pants on all weekend... I just about smashed my stupid clothes line when it wouldn't stay up, just about smashed my stupid kitchen scales cos they're pakaru. Sounds like such stupid little things now I'm over it, but at the time, I felt like everything was falling down around me and when I get mad, I get MAD!!! :twisted:

But come Monday, it all seems like roses... Until cardio time that is :lol:

Yep it arrived today - was really excited, until I tried it one and thought SHIT!!!! That's some serious work still to do and realistically, 4 1/2 weeks aint long enough to do it! So I had a minor melt-down and went straight to the gym!! I guess I need to look at it as this being my first competition and get all the experience and knowledge I can out of it, so next time around I'll know a little bit more about what I'm doing and be waaaay more ready!

In the meantime the journal continues...

Trainer's stepping up the intensity of workouts... This is a good thing I'm sure, but this morning I came close to A) chundering and B) crying like a baby, but sucked up and focused on through it so I could get home to my oats! Mmmmm choc-mint oaty goodness :D

I admit it, I've been a slack tart not updating this for a week, but honestly right now it feels like same shit different day!

I am loving my "high carb" days - who knew oats with protein could be so exciting :pfft:

So highlights in the last week...

Went for posing session on Sunday which was cool - boosted confidence which was much needed!

Still freaking out though - 3 and a half weeks and a decent amount of body fat to move but I'm doing what I'm told, and working hard so I guess what will be will be - and hey, who knows what can happen in 3 weeks. Whatever happens, I've learned a lot and next time around I'll know what I'll do differently 8)

I've virtually doubled my cardio - testing body fat again tomorrow so will be interesting to see what the numbers say even though I don't want to place too much importance on it - it's about how you look yeah yeah I know, but it's always nice to have confirmation that something's happening!

Apart from that, things are rocking along... I was joking with my trainer yesterday saying that work is my rest time :pfft: Haha wonder how my boss would feel about that!

I'm still having cranky moments - stupid people are pissing me off more than usual... I ask you, on what planet does LONG BLACK involve milk huh?!

Anyway... That's about as updated as this gets for now... Till next time

I am a bad bad person for not keeping up with my journal!! :(

But today I've decided there's only just over a week to go (OMG it freaks me out to say it!!) :shock: so I figured if I'm putting in all this extra effort at the gym and dieting, surely I can get get back on the journal wagon?! :wink:

Went to the NZFBB nationals last weekend - THAT is what I call motivation! Bummed that I only saw pre-judging - would really love to have seen Jo Stewart, but didn't make it - and besides, Auckland were kicking Wellington's arses in the rugby and hey, THAT is a can't miss! :grin:

In an attempt to shift some fat, I've been interval training... Trainer wouldn't take it when I declared that this body was not made to run... "Sweetie, I don't DO running" hehe :P so yes, this body has been not only been running, this body has been sprinting and I have to admit that while I hate every second of it at the time, there is nothing like it for getting a decent sweat on and feeling like you've really done something intense in a relatively short period of time. I actually smile when I finish (could be the fact that the most evil part of my day is over!)

So this morning consisted of 20min HIIT

Tonight I'll go back and lift and do some more lovely cardio

Food today:

1. salmon, kumara

3. chicken, kumara, beans

4. chicken, beans

5. chicken, broccoli & cauli

6. egg whites

It's amazing how little things like having salmon for breakfast can seem so disgusting to other people... Man, I was loving it!!! :grin:

I also won a box of some energy drink in a radio competition this morning (as well as $500 thanks very much) :grin: so the flatmate's going to be stoked about that (the drink not the money - that's mine!) I nearly busted out the "but it's not sugarfree" but decided against it seeing as it was "free" :wink:

Yeah I know, it was on The Rock - had to massage Simon Doull's manky feet (I have this crazy but oh so real fear of feet :shock: Scarred me for life but the $500 will ease the pain somewhat :wink: Actually no shopping spree - it's marked for paying off the credit card :evil:

Yep just on a week to go - I can't believe it!!!

It's true what people say about noticing changing in the last few weeks - I need to learn to listen to people! In the last few days I suddenly have abs - who knew?! VERY exciting! And hopefully with a bit of dehydration leading up to next Saturday I'll notice a lot more changes :)

Still feel like I'm carrying too much fat, but I'm doing what I can so what will be will be on the day and I'll know what needs to be done next time around.

My Mum said to me yesterday she can't wait until this is all over "because you're a bitch" yep those were her words :evil:

I guess I have been at times, but I've had some good days too (maybe just not when she's around :wink:

Anyhoo...

Yesterday was my last "proper" PT session and surprisingly I was feeling pretty strong (although DAMN hungry!!)

Also ran home from work which was about a 40min run - nice to get out of the gym for a change (did I really just say "run" and "nice" in the same sentence?!)

Well it's now officially less than a week to go!!!

On Friday I filled out my entry form and stuff and it all felt so "real". I'm excited and I'm nervous. I don't really know what to expect - yeah I've been to a few comps but actually being in one is a whole other ball game, and not knowing anyone makes it all the more scary - the whole what happens back stage thing, when you're sposed to do what blah blah. Feels worse than starting the first day of a new job :shock:

But I am excited (and hungry and knackered... and broke!!)

Saturday (1 week out) 27 Oct

Decided to do my sprints out of the gym for a change so drove to a beach and found a bit of a hill and did some sprints up it. My legs seem to be in a perpetual state of shock at the moment!

Went to the gym in the afternoon and did some weights plus a 10min blast of intervals on the bike. I wanted to die, but in a good way :twisted:

Got asked to judge a cake baking/workspace decorating thing for the department next to mine at work just now... Obviously I didn't partake in the taste testing but DAMN watching my boss and colleague cut into and eat like 6 different cakes was like TORTURE!!!!

It was back to my desk and nibbling on chicken for me... Great timing huh?! :roll:

I was managing the comms for a project at work and accidently printed the wrong phone number on the letter :oops: Thankfully it only went to 150 people and not thousands, but the dude who's actual number it was rang up and complained and now I have to organise compensation blah blah blah.... Haha that's what you get for making me work! :pfft:

Wangled another day off tomorrow, so that's my bits and pieces, last minute getting my shit together day...

At work at the mo - well my body is, but my head, yeah not so much :pfft:

No more training, just posing my lil butt off. I totally should've practised more, but all part of the learning and that's what this is all about this time around!

Body fat testing this morning. i know I said I don't place much faith in the numbers and it's pretty meaningless at the end of the day, but psychologically I wanted to know! So I came in at 14% but trainer reckons with the margin of error I'm more likely to be 10-12%. Personally, I think that's a stretch but whatever, it's how I'm gonna be looking on stage that counts 8)

Carbing up today - oooohhhh yeah!!! :grin:
