What multivitamins do you rate?

Hey all, im new here. I work in a Health 2000 store and we sell a metric sh*t-ton of multivitamins. I personally like the Swisse ones, mainly because they contain no synthetic ingrediants... but also because I get them free  what about everyone else?

I guess I view multi-vitamins as a kind of stop-gap insurance... Hopefully my diet is good enough to provide most, if not all, of what I need. The multi is really only there just in case it doesn't.

I don't take my multi-vitamin religously, and I don't really expect it to make a significant difference to my progress. Because of that, I tend to economise and get a cheap brand from the supermarket. Probably Thompsons, I think, but I couldn't tell you for sure. :D

I take the women's multi from Healtheries. Is there a test you can do on your multis to see how uhh un-crap they are? :shifty:

you can tell by the ingredients on the back of the multi. a lot of companies are not up-to-date with the research on the vitamins/minerals.

Stick one in a glass of coke and see how long it takes to dissolve. The longer it takes the harder they are for the body to break down.

When you make a comparison between a glass of coke in which you dipped your vitamin pill and a human digestive system, what similarity are you seeing?

I've been taking my multi vits religiously for about 4 years & haven't had a single cold or flu in that time - dunno if the multi-vits are the reason or not but I'm not about to drop them from my routine.

didnt u have glandular fever not so long ago? or is this not a cold or flu?

I take sports multi's every second or third day. A recent study I read found that taking the every day can increase chances of testicular cancer. I dont know how much truth is in this but im not taking chances. :)

As with anything to much is usually bad

I wouldn't worry too much about the study. it overlooked many things.

Glandular fever is a different kettle of fish all together - nothing will stop that shit.

NFS Ultimate Sports Multi

That breakdown is for 3 capsules. The old Ultimate Sports Multi was much better as it had that much in one tablet. You could actually use it as a decent ZMA supplement by taking 3 tabs - now you need to use 9 capsules a day.
