The New Zealand Rugby Union is firmly committed to banning prohibited substances from the sport, deputy chief executive Steve Tew said today.

French coach Bernard Laporte has questioned whether New Zealand and English rugby has as stringent an anti-drugs policy as in France.

Maybe I'm being a bit mischevious here, but I just wondered what the bodybuilding perspective on this was? :D

Dude, Creatine is banned for use and sale in France. That says something. The French have also just hosted the Tour De France, which this year probably had more drugs in it than the whole IFBB pro division put together, which has created huge anger and suspicion through out France.

I hope this is a paranoid knee-jerk reaction from an already proven whinger.

Tew was mystified by a suggestion by Laporte that southern hemisphere players were more exposed to doping because there was more elite rugby played here.
"The more elite rugby there is, as in the Southern Hemisphere, the more people are exposed to doping."

I suppose they've got to blame something for our elite rugby players.
