It's a government initiative that states by 2012 (I think) all petrol fuel sold in NZ at the pump must have a 10% biofuel component. Fonterra's plant in Edgecumbe have been developing this for some time. If you feel the need to blame someone, blame your labour government. I think it's brilliant to be honest.

Suffice to say that it may herald another increase in Whey for the bodybuilder, to go with paying the farmers more, who in turn drive the economy in our agriculture based nation.

And some people tried to tell me Bodybuilding isn't a selfish past-time. Maybe if we could see past the end of our noses and think about things for the greater good of the country....

Seriously though, while I approve of the environmental ideals driving this (excuse the pun), I'm not sure how much good a 10% biofuel component will do.

Has anyone watched "Who Killed the Electric Car?" It's a real eye-opener. From around 2000-2004, there were hundreds of electric cars driving around the US. Not just hybrids - fully electric cars. They were still early models, and weren't being mass-produced, but they were certainly beyond just the prototype stage. Their owners absolutely loved them, and there were waiting lists to get one. But after a few years, they all disappeared. The car manufacturers had systematically rounded them all up, and shredded them.

I couldn't believe it. I may even have shouted "You stupid f'ng bastards!" at the TV. I wouldn't normally encourage illegal file-sharing, but I think in this case, the documentary makers want as many people as possible to see it. If you can download the video, I highly recommend it.
