Sorry!

This site is in read-only mode right now. You can browse all our old topics (and there's a lot of them) but you won't be able to add to them.

So you think that you're strong?!

I will be using this thread to upload training footage, behind the scenes content and event info leading into the first round of the Auckland Strongman Series 2016. If you know of any beasts, feel free to tag them in social media posts as there is still 1 or 2 slots available for this event which is limited to 12.

Typically, the winner of each event receives twelve series points, the second place getter, eleven and so forth. The highest scoring athlete at the end of the series is named Auckland Strongman Series Champion.  At each event up to twelve of the country’s best strongman competitors come together and compete across four disciplines.

Round 1: April 30

Round 2: August (Date TBC)

Round 3: Early December

nice work on getting sponsors like that man. how does the car deadlift work by the way, where does it connect to, roughly how much work is the lifter doing when performing the lift from the front of that car for example (what weight is it equivalent to) ?

Kevin from GetStrength fabricated the car deadlift frame. It's like a pivot - the closer the wheels of the vehicle are to the lifter, the heavier it will be. It was made boltable/adjustable so we can make it harder and easier without having to change vehicles. With my Audi A4 on the most challenging setting, the boys compared it to feeling like a 250kg pull. The Grand Vitara will be heavier than that on the day. It's max reps inside 60 seconds.
