  • Squat: Metals C46 11th week Equipped straps up. Squats were a bit off today speed at 160kgs low 0.5s so went to 170 last week was 180 for the top set. Not as fast high 0.4s so did a drop to 160 that was better then the warm up 160kgs.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench SlingShot 2XL and Overload. Like the Squats felt good on the warm ups did a top @ a 100. Last week only got 3 reps this week 4. So did 2 drop sets one at 95kgs and another at 90kgs. Going to put a bit more volume and a bit more intensity into the top sets.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift straps up, belt position right. Same weight as last week and speed was up non last week. Getting back up where it should be. Average this week was 0.4 last week was 0.415 
     
  • Notes: Indifferent week this week 2 main days have been a bit slower than expected, will work on a few cues for the next few weeks. Squat setup is just feeling off so will video and see what is going on, Bench needs a lower speed so more weight I need to start grinding so to speak. 
    Daeds are ok just the effects of the 2 above.

  • Squat: Medium Bar position Metals, Speeds were down today been the story of the week so only went to 180 did 2 sets 2nd was better than the first and did a drop of 5kgs which was the speed I would have liked the first set of 180.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench top sets speed was ok but they just felt off a little down on last week but totally different days.
     
  • Pull: Conventional softsuit, today was tough just pulled 1 rep at 170 last week did 6. I knew the 2nd was going to be a grind so just left it.
     
  • Notes: End of the thirteenth week and like some may say unlucky for some. Not the week that I was expecting but positives to come out and things to learn.

  • Squat: Primary Day C46, Medium Bar Flats Week 1 Block 4. Same as last week did 2 primer sets at 160kgs these were up on last week. 200 was slightly slower than last week even at a double so decided to just do another set at 200 which was better than last so did a drop @ 195 should have done 200 will see next week.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. After the debacle with the SK last week decided that I needed to increase my work on the bench. So did 3 sets at a 100kgs will move these back to triples. Bench has taken a while to get anywhere near my previous numbers.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46, after last week today went surprisingly well pulled 180 for a double been a long time since I have done anything near this. Did a drop set at 170 this was tough but good.
     
  • Notes: Start of Block 4 week 2, doubles again, a better day than last week so will stick at these weights till my speed picks up. Deads went pretty well today about time me thinks.

  • Squat: Metals C46 12th week Equipped. Squats were a bit off today speed at 160kgs very low 0.5s so went to 170 which was bang on and felt better. Did a drop of 5kgs should have been slower than I would have wanted but that is ok.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench SlingShot 2XL and Overload. Like the Squats felt good on the warm ups did a top @ a 100. Last week got 4 reps same as this week. So did 2 drop sets one at 97.5kgs and another at 95kgs. In hindsight should have done another set at 97.5 as the 95 was bit faster.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift straps up, belt position right. Same weight as last week and speed was up down on last week. May have been Mondays session or I was just not applying myself I think the latter. Average this week was 0.386 last week was 0.40

  • Squat: Speeds were down today been the story of the last 2 weeks so repeated last weeks numbers.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench as the squats speed was down and the weight too by 10kgs.
     
  • Pull: Conventional softsuit, today like last week was tough just pulled 150 been hitting 170s as I knew 170 was going to be a grind.
     
  • Notes: End of the fourteenth week and I very glad that I am heading down south for 4 days. Gives me a real good deload week as I was pretty strong 2 weeks ago. I was aiming for certain numbers on my 65th birthday, not going to happen. A couple of things that I did not take into consideration which is possibly a really good thing.
     
  • (i) I peaked 2 weeks ago
  • (ii) 14 weeks is a bit too long without a decent deload
  • (iii) I am not conditioned enough for this length of cycle
  • (iv) I was focused on a result and a date did not think the process out thoroughly.
  • [v] it will take a bit longer with a more detailed preparation to get back too and better than where I was before.

  • Squat: Primary Day C46, Micro 1 Wk 1. Did 2 primer sets at 160kgs these were just down om my usual speed. So 180kgs was the planned target for today. Especially after the week in Dunedin and the birthday treats.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. This was the same as the Squats but a little better weight wise to the previous days. 2 sets at a 100kgs was all I could muster.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46, Deads seem to get affected like the Squat so 150kgs for 2 sets as these felt a lot tougher then the speed indicated.
     
  • Notes: Start of Micro-cycle 1 just to get back into training with nothing specific in mind competition wise. Just want to build my base strength back up same as my conditioning and the body weight down to double digits.:situp:

  • Squat: Primary Day C46, Micro 1 Wk 5. went up to 190kgs today changed suits at 160kgs. At 100kgs i was hitting depth, with the weight loss of 7kgs the suit was pretty loose. It showed in the speed of the primer sets a good point faster. 
     
  • Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. Just repeated last weeks numbers. but went to a 100kgs first time for a while.

  • Squat: Metals C44. Squats are feeling better and speed getting back up So just repeated last weeks numbers but did the three work sets at 160kgs no drops this week.
     
  • Press: Comp Bench SlingShot 2XL and Overload. Like the Squats felt good on the warm ups. Last week 90s got better they were again this week better so went to 95kgs for a top and a drop to 90kgs.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46. Same weight as last week all in the low 4s as 3rd and 5th rep mucked around with setup.

  • Squat: Primary Day C44, Micro 1 Wk 7. Pretty tough weekend working on the house speeds were pretty slow on my primer sets and 180 was a good point dow. So just did 3 sets at 180 did not go up. Speeds were pretty consistent so happy with that. 
     
  • Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. Just repeated last week's numbers. 100kgs for the top set a little faster than last week so did 2 sets at a 100. 
    This felt pretty good as I was expecting the same on the Squats to happen to my bench.

     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46, after a good Bench I was hoping for a good dead. But 150 felt like 200 not that I can do 200 but it felt like it so left it at 1 set.
     
  • Notes: Micro-cycle 1 7th week. Fatigued from the weekend and work around the house. But some positives to come out of today's training.

  • Squat: Primary Day C44, Micro 1 Wk 8. another tough weekend working on the house speeds were slow on my primer sets 180 was half a point faster. So went to 192.5kgs to keep in the 3s good pick drop set was a bit faster too. 
     
  • Press: Comp Bench Overload XL. 100kgs felt good so did a top set of 105kgs and drop to a 100kgs. This felt pretty good as I was like the Squats not expecting too much from the Bench.
     
  • Pull: Sumo Deadlift C46, after a good Bench I was hoping for a good dead. And it did the same 150 was up on last week so went to 170kgs been a few weeks since I have hit 170 all in the 3s. So pretty happy with this.
     
  • Notes: Micro-cycle 1 8th week. Same as last Monday fatigued from the weekend and work around the house. Was considering flagging the day at the 160s as the 2nd Primer was slower than the first which shows fatigue. Just as well I went on as I had a pretty good over all 3 lifts
