Can I ask what does 3pX1n mean? Probably something simple im sure but I cant work it out.

My log was full Russian (Sheiko) for a while, it is just a Russian translation of 3 reps x 1 Set I still follow a Sheiko/Bulgarian hybrid at the moment.

  • Squat: Cloned last weeks but went up to 180 and a added a drop set of 175kgs. Hip is a lot better, just need some manipulation around certain areas. Will catch up with the Butcher of Baghdad tomorrow
     
  • Press: Still no shirt did Bostock Bench again, generating good speed of the chest at the moment. Happy with 120kgs, will keep around this number for the next couple of weeks.

  • Squat: With moving my stance in I was able to do these this week, went to a 100, beltless so pretty happy with this. Want to try and put some pressure on this lift over the next few months. No residual fall out after yesterdays suited lifting Close Stance works.
     
  • Press: Medium Grip cloning the last few weeks but with Boards. still issues with shoulders elbows and wrist just awesome
     
  • Pull: Deadlifts, moved stance in and able to hit these again need to up the ante get some solid work in before WBOP Regionals.

Update:

Had my Bloods done on Friday talked to the Doc on Tuesday, need to see a specialist next week 21st. Most things are ok Liver Kidneys except Testosterone count is cut in half:crying: Iron levels are way down and I eat meat like anything. 

The concern is my immune system The Antinuclear Antibody Comments This mixed pattern may be associated with specific rheumatic disorders including systemic sclerosis and SLE.

So bottom line is My immune system is either being attacked or is trying to fight off some kind of viral infection which seem to be hitting everywhere that I have had a injury. The Doc thinks it is attacking the weakened joints (scar tissue) beside everything else. On Course of medication but need to see the specialist as he will do more Bloods and hopefully find the right drug.

Have to limit training to when I can but not looking good at the moment.

Not much I can say except :wtfbanner: and :bigfinger:

Been pretty busy with CDPA stuff and also what has been going on with me, Training is out for at least another 2 weeks so I am out of the WBOP Champs in 2 weeks.

this is from saturday March 23rd 

First Diagnosis, still got blood tests to do on the other symptoms, so cut and paste from wiki would have taken to long to write:laughing:

Polymyalgia rheumatica

(which takes its name from the word "polymyalgia" which means "pain in many muscles" in Greek followed by the term "rheumatica") abbreviated as PMR, is a syndrome with pain or stiffness, usually in the neck, shoulders, and hips. The pain can be very sudden, or can occur gradually over a period. It may be caused by an inflammatory condition of blood vessels such as temporal arteritis.
Most PMR sufferers wake up in the morning with pain in their muscles; however, there have been cases in which the patient has developed the pain during the evenings.[1] Patients who have polymyalgia rheumatica may also have temporal arteritis, an inflammation of blood vessels in the face which can cause blindness if not treated quickly.
PMR is usually treated with courses of oral corticosteroids.[2] Most people need to continue the corticosteroid treatment for two to three years.[3] PMR usually goes away on its own in a year or two, but medications and self-care measures can improve the rate of recovery.[4]

I like wikipedia as it says I can be cured within in 2 years, the crap thing is being on Prednisone for 2 years. Some side issues with that length of time. So maybe get things done quicker, have to change the diet which is good :situp: needed this to happen. Will start training but very light (:rolleyessign:) as the Prednisone weakens the bones and drains calcium I think, it also adds weight bad weight

So on the day of the diagnosis was angry :flaming: but after researching and settling down its like a sabbatical, things to plan and do.

Just waiting on the second blood test to come through, they were sent to Christchurch?

Just an Update on the Health: 

10/4/2014: The Doc said I could not train or compete this weekend at the WBOP regionals sad. The reason is my CRP is still quite high even after the 2 blood test results came back. C-Reactive Protein was 38 on the first test now down to 12.

 

2/5/2014: Seen the specialist today things are looking up, all the bloodwork is good, and my C-Reactive Protein was 38 on the first test, 12 on the second is now 4:clap::clap: 

Blood Pressure

Systolic 125
Diastolic 82
Heart beat 71
A far cry from 112/35:crying:

 

5/6/2014

  • Got my bloods back :wallbash: my C-Reactive Protein has risen from 4 to 6 so after discussions with the Doc I am not increasing any weights until after my next blood test which will be next week.
     
  • I feel ok recovery is good but the initial start to training may have taxed my system. Even tho the weights were pitiful, but there is a long term picture here. Will try and restrict the sugar and reduce the salt more, weight is still an issue.

 

25/6/2014

Blood tests came back yesterday, after a month of not increasing the weight on training days, because the last test had my C-RP (C-reactive protein) increase from 4 to 6. It has now gone to 9, :flaming: my body weight has gone up quite a bit, which may have something to do with the elevated C-RP. So from yesterday after talking to the Doc, until the next monthly blood test a couple of big no's, Carbs, Sugars and Salt. Going to a tough Cold Turkey month,:situp: will keep the training the same but add time to it add bit more rest in between sets..

21/7/2014

Had my monthly Blood test 21st July Monday week past, got the Bloods back. The Doc was pretty happy to tell me my C-Reactive Protein is down to 3 from 9 last month. After a month of No Carbs, Sugar or Salt my weight has dropped just under 6 kilos, I weighed 110.4kgs today from 116 a month ago. So about a Kilo a point on the C-RP. The diet seems to be working, just got to ask the question tomorrow whether I can put the weights up on my training. Next year is looking a lot better for a return to the Platform.

Doc also informed me on the Tuesday that I could not go up in weights till the next blood test just to see if my bloods have stabilized :wallbash: Not what I wanted to hear but still gives me time to work io things. I was only wanting to go up 2.5kgs a week:dunno:
 

 

Training has been non exsistent been the same for 3 months now like Ground hog Day do the 3 lifts on Sunday and a Circuit Tuesday and Thursday.

Been a while since I last posted in here, health is finally on the mend 3 months of Prendisone to go and training is starting to resemble some sort of structure and weight.

What are you taking prednisone for ?

 

Last year just after my first comp back since the injury, I ended up getting polymyalgia rheumatica, was on 15mgs a day, now down to 1mg for the next 2 months nasty drug

horrible stuff, my old mans teeth turned to chalk after a few months on it for COPD. had to get full set of implants, had perfect teeth previously

Thanks Pseudonym, training wasn't worthy the past 14 months but I did manage a new PB at Tonka's this year it s now 5 Large schnitzel will have to update :yes:

Thats pretty bad heard of some nasty side effects I think I was pretty lucky just had the Skin on the fingers and hands become very soft brittle, would split after deadlifts and take ages to heal, and the feet went really hard like Elephant feet getting better now though.  Log has been quiet as training wasn't much to write about.
