Boris has some weird humour going on, do Skills on Wednesday up to 95% then bang out 160kgs x 2 x 4 sets on Squats followed by 100kgs x 3 x 6 sets on Bench.

machine mate!....my knees felt hammered after skills but bench was fine, the workings of boris are indeed a mystery :-s

Notes:

Had another shot at my opener, Tried different shoes my heels Chucks and Adidas Good Years. Chucks were pretty different knees started to drift forward, so put on the Good Years the heel is about half of my Adidas Adistar. These feel a bit unstable have got to use to the Adistars I think so will percvere with them. I thought the change in shoes may have a difference as it did just before the Nationals. May try a narrower stance on Monday.

Bench went better, I have lowered the weight and working to hit the chest more. Today touched and a slight pause with 135 tkane a while

Did not have enough time to do Pause Squats.

So did one more just to see if I could but it was getting ugly, been a long time since I have had to ice nearly all day and s*#te like that. Doc thinks it should be ok just going watch it over the next week.

Bench was good, Board work was over the place frustrated with the injury.

Luckily my comp is the following week in WBOP. Too much to lift and organise the BBro lerant that a few years back.

Bit down on out put left out 22 squats for monday second session.

Good day when it is just a Double Whooper 2 sessions But today was tough on the last work sets 3 x 17okgs x 6 sets whats with that.

Weekly Analysis:

Squats:

Better effort this week with the Suit well the shoes changed to chucks then Adidas Goodyears. Will stick with the Adistars I seem to have settled into them finally taken a while.

Bench:

Shirt is coming along touched with 135 3 times so that is pleasing. Setup has improved and more confident with what is going on.

Deads:

A good start to the session except for throwing the hip out, but confident it will come right before WBOP. Got The Doc working his magic hands on me.

Been pretty busy with the BBro, has taken some of the focus off training but not to much, just delays in posting etc.

Another good week in Iron Valhalla

Had another shot at my opener, will stick with the Adistars. Lot happier slight hiccup on the 217.5kgs Stalled at mid point slightly tilted but locked out.

Bench went better, started at a lower weight on the Boards. 135kgs will be my opener with a better pause on the second rep, 142.5kgs went up may be a bit of a bum rise on the first but the second was like glue.

Down to Double Whooper sessions Good session but the Bro is sapping me.

Weekly Analysis:

Squats:

Happy with this weeks effort the Adistars are going well.

Bench:

Shirt is coming right touched with 135 2 times so that is pleasing. Did a couple at 142.5.

Deads:

Hip was an issue so used my loose suit to keep tight, cannot get any stronger so will just sort the head out.

As has been all this week busy with the BBro, taken some of the focus off training but not to much, and just delays in posting my training.

Last session nice light and quick. Body is resting up at last clap.gifwhich is good, been a bit punished these last couple of weeks BBro setup and training at the same time.

Weight is all over the place had it right up till the BBQ @ the BBro and below sort of put pay to that. May not worry about the weight for this comp, not trying break any records. Hip is pretty good around 85% maybe more will see on the day.

Seem to be pretty relaxed not to sure if that is a good thing or not.

All it depends on now is my 3 friends in White Shirts, with two flags in their hands as long as the White one is raised I will be a happy chappy shoutingforjoy.gifif it is red still happy.

WBOP Novice Comp Cambridge

Squat

1st Attempt: 220kg 3 whites

2nd Attempt: 227.5 3 Whites

3rd Attempt: 232.5kg 3 Reds spotters had to catch.

Bench

1st Attempt: 135kgs 3 Whites

2nd Attempt: 142.5kgs 3 Whites

3rd Attempt: 145kg 3 Reds. spotter's had to catch.

Deadlift Sumo Hook Grip

1st Attempt: 220 3 Whites,

2nd attempt: 230kg 3 Reds did not leave the floor.

3rd Attempt: 230kg 3 Reds, came up slightly but same as above

BW 101.35kgs

Lifts 5 from 9

Put on a bit of weight from the BBro so on Thursday decided to stop dropping weight for the comp just go up and enjoy it, 101kgs on Thursday.

Friday morning went to pts had a big breakfast toast peanut butter and apricot jam x 2 Cereal yoghurt etc. Stop at Waiuru 2 x Steak Bread rolls pt had put aside for or first stop, Delux Cheese Burger combo at Maccas Rotorua, Tonka heaps of chicken salad yep salad, topped off with a lemon meringue pie yum yum yum yum.

Talked the night away woke up at 6.00am left at 7.00am for the 2 hour drive to Cambridge, got there just after 9.00am weighed in at 101.35 110s. Had a feed then just started getting ready, well getting ready was the pun a heap of lifters kept coming in, At the start we thought 12 lifters out of here by 3.00pm. 34 lifters turned caught everyone by surprise, so they split it into 3 groups the first 14 lifters the second 13 lifters the 3rd all registered lifters 7 of us. Some one suggested we go last (forum member and competitor) seemed a good idea that was dumb as I agreed.

Started lifting Squats at about 1.20pm Bench was after three closer to four, did my last Deadlift at 5.55pm. Was the hottest day of the year felt like it was, drinking heaps sweating more, waiting, downing salt tablets and just keeping an eye on my food intake. It was a pretty long day so the plan sort of went out the window lift wise and just went on how I felt. Competition area was pretty hot no respite.

Squats: Warm ups were good, nailed the opener, reset brought the second attempt down to 227.5kgs nailed that, went for 232.5kgs lost it about halfway up tilted forward only the second time spotters have caught me the other time was this year at the CD Champs.

Bench: Pretty well a repeat of the Squat, opener was very fast 3 whites, 2nd came off the chest just as fast surprised me a bit as it stopped just before lockout paused then finished it. Third came of the chest quick lost the line had to be caught.

Deads: 11 hours later from waking up and travelling stared the Deads had big plans things had been going well, but cramp was rearing its head and the long day took its toll, got the first grip slipped a bit but no biggee 2nd did not even leave the floor, 3rd came off but drifted forward always wary of the hip so i do not push want hip to get better save the lift for another day.

PB Squat 227.5kgs

PB 3 Lift Bench 142.4kgs had got this at the CDs but Bombed the Squat so not a lift.

PB Total 12.5kgs

5 from Nine 3 PBs so a pretty good day considering, back to the Drawing board and getting ready for my next cycle a few changes subtle.

Happy with the Squat was in my Adistars PB with a new stance which has only been going since the Nationls so will keep the heels.

Bench big improvements in this comp so have a couple of things to work on going to use my heels and talked to T about a new foot position to accommodate the Adistars.

Deads, twice now I have missed my 2nd and 3rd attempts have some ideas there to.

Felt good even though the day did not go to plan but 7 hours is pretty long time to keep levels up.

Had a good battle with JayPee he clipped me by 2.5kgs, two old farts well I one really old were 1st and 2nd biggest totals out of 34 lifters.

Want to thank my handler pt, did all the thinking for me did not even know my attempts well knew some of them thanks Bro long day for us both.

Want to thank Douglas for his Gym for the venue the spotter loaders and all the Support crew and refs.
