After talking with KP about sumo always feels good up to 80% and then if your technique is not ON you will find 90% + just wont go. I was about to change the % to get a bit more work higher up but thought this is my first comp with Sumo, so I will keep to the programme and see how it pans out it 5 weeks time.

I think thats a good idea OB, it may just take a little while to get use to this style and grove when strain is adding into the formula but stick with it, it will come though for you. good training big guy.

VP

Yeah VP, my thoughts exactly.

The plan was to use it at the Nationals then hopefully make the NZ Team for the Oceania's in Samoa December and see how it reallys goes.

The CD Champs in April will give me a guide to how it is progressing.

good to see the bar going and down lots

Bit of massive session even for a reduced Volume rolleyessign.gif

how long does it take to get all that done OB? - volume is huge

Yeah Optimas a big Day and like I said above this is a reduced Volume for us Old Fellas.

Today was about 2 1/2 hours maybe just a bit more I was looking for an incline bench to rest on after that a seat and I would not have got up.

Notes:

Day 2 of the Week 8, and a better effort than 4 weeks ago and this week was off a mat. 195s were a lot crisper except for the first rep 2nd was not focused made it hard. Second rep made up for it. Used Double Over Hand DOH on the raw deads made a bit of difference on the work sets.

Noticed my lockout has really improved lost a couple of reps half way up wrong line but locked out strong. Thank You 4 Board

Notes:

Not a bad Friday today bit better than last week volume wise squats were a better effort happy with them.

Should be a lightish day Monday ready for Skills Assessment.

Weekly Analysis:

Lifts for Week:

229+90=387 68 lifts down on last week

Squat:

Pretty happy with these, my Raw Squat is going well too pleased with depth and no hip niggles. Missed paused squats this week will try and fit them in before CDs.

Bench:

Monday's shirt session was over the place need more weight to touch but will have to wait till skills. Raw work again is going well, same as the board work happy with how it is progressing.

DeadZone:

I have been pulling from a 1" mat on all sessions, this has increased the work capacity but at the same time has tidied some areas of my deadlift. Will know how this has helped next week. Speed off the floor should be more smoother and my hip position should be a lot better.

Thanks Steak,

Coast Barbell looks a heap better than the original house we had dirt floors and only 2 walls and you would have seen the photo of our first piece, once that broke and we got stronger, I started building better gear.

Coast Barbell is pretty awesome and that came from what you said above.
