week 13 day 1 (comp week)

 

bench

70 x 5

90 x 5 

110 x 1

120kg 3x1 handed out, paused. this is opener.

105kg 3x2

 

coach dropped opener to 120 but kept second at 132-135 which i will nail so it just means save a bit of energy for 3rd.

 

bb row

70kg 3x8

 

ohp

50kg 3x8 (easy, just to do the movement)

 

db curl

22.5kg 3x8

 

 

 

fly on wednesday morning, last trainning wednesday night, will go to a gym around westgate if anyone wants to meet up (think fotr you live round there?)

 

feeling strong. i think barring a freak accident ill smoke my seconds comfortably, then just see what coach lets me do for thirds. got ideas in my head im aiming for and think we are on the same page so should be a good result. no yolo attempts lol.

 

my best and only competition total is 582.5 and im opening on 600 so whatever happens its gonna be a good pb total.

See how warmups feel man as mono is a bit rusty for me but we planned for 245/120/235 Openers and they'll stand as long as I don't go bad in mono. 

 

Next prep I'll do more practice in mono so I don't have to worry about it next time

What an awesome day. 

Monolift and squat bar and super tight wraps were a shock so adjusted my expectations a bit but went 8/9. 

 

Squat: 245/255/262x wraps were too tight and sore so I cut the 262 high 

 

bench: 120/132.5/140 all good 9 whites 

 

deadlift: 235/245/255 all good 9 whites. 

 

The super tight wrap my coach did fucked my hamstrings a bit and was sore, lesson learned is wrap much tighter in training as even when he went his "lightest" it was 2x rougher than any time I've wrapped myself so I need

to get used to that . 

 

Monolift took some getting used to and didn't feel

great so yeah not all perfect but pretty damn close,  no need for excuses though had an epic day. Finally met skeletor jimmybro elmo and pseudonym (unfortunately brief) and heaps of other gcs not on here. 

 

Other thing is it was a straight up privilege to be lifting with the people I lifted with today, some freaks and numbers I'm gonna be aspiring to

lol.. thanks guys, ya weirdos.

 

back in melbourne now, body is a bit beat up, have some bad bruising on the back of my knees from the wraps and right hamstring and right side lower back a bit buggered. will be right in a few days.

 

im back into training with an off season program from monday, this week i'll just do a couple bench days, might try hit a pb single if i feel good this afternoon. 

 

off season program starting monday and i'll also be cleaning up my diet a lot.

 

plan is to eat at a very slight deficit and very slowly cut to 105-106 by early next year, in time to begin a prep for competing next year to qualify for GPC nationals in the 100s. this year around a 690 total would have got me there @ 100kg, so i think i have a good shot of doing that.

 

110s and 125s are too brutal, to qualify for nationals this year, the lowest qualifier for 110s was 750, and for 125s was 745, im not there yet so better to ditch some fat and lift in a more suitable class.

 

i have probably 8 months before ill be competing again so plenty of time to get in shape and get stronger
