SparxXx
Hey guysI am new to this forum, I normally just post on bb.com forums,But then I was just about to buy some supplements from the shop online as they are extremely cheap, and have good deals until I saw the postage fee! $65USD to NZ (although the supps would be quite heavy)I was wondering where everybody here buys there supplements from?Or else would any body be interested in buying a bulk buy from BB.com and save on shipping? If somebody wanted to make order with me, and then It would save a lot on shipping, as we could split shipping costs or something just let me know.Im after Protein, Creatine, BCAA, No Explode, and multivitamins.Cheers GuysSheldon
Mike Zero
I'd probably be keen on splitting the shipping if a bunch of other people do as well. Just gotta find meself some money. :pfft:
Pseudonym
Hey SparxXx. Welcome. I think you'll find we're a much smaller board board than bb.com, but what we lack in size, we make up for in quality members. :grin:As for ordering supplements, I personally don't use bb.com. I had some major hassles with them a while back, and I refuse to order anything off them any more. There are plenty of NZ retailers and online stores - just look at the adverts on this site. I don't have any particular favourites... I try to spread the joy between them all.
Phantomb
Interestingly it costs the same for a 10lb bag of ON protein to ship from US as to buy in New Zealand.Everything else will be cheaper.Although I would suggest just buying your protein here. I don't think sharing the shipping costs with others from bb.com will save you much if you're buying protein, maybe for smaller things. bheeman
I just read Pseudonym's experience with Bodybuilding.com. I was totally shocked at the customer service! I am a business owner myself and such service is completely unacceptable. Your patience and temper is incredible. To be honest, I have had problems similar to BB.com when I sometimes ship our merchandise to customers overseas. The customs sometimes does hold up the goods.. sometimes for several months. But as a retailer, there are certain ways we eliminate the problem. We can write off the expenses and the price of the merchandise as bad debts. we can also write directly to the customs official and explain as the seller what the product is, show the manual. affidavit, etc. I have done this numerous times for my customers. Whenever such a problem as yours has happened, my company usually sends another brand new order to the customer for free. We usually write it off as bad debts in our accounts. If the customer gets the first order later, we ask them to return it back and we pay for the shipping expenses. If the price of the merchandise is low, then we just tell them to keep it. It is now getting more and more common for overseas business, especially e-tailers to get away with such shoddy service. It is very difficult to take any legal actions and they know it. Please be very selective with the companies you buy from overseas. When in doubt, buy locally, even though it is more expensive.
The Legend Killer
EDIT: I take back what I said about ebody. The guy who runs the site personally came to drop off my stuff at my house because of this. Excellent stuff!
SparxXx
Alright. In regards to BB.Com's service... that is a real suprise to me, I thought they would have been very good, I guess that since we are in NZ it may be a little different though.I think I might actually just buy locally then to start with.In regards to ebody.co.nz service, These guys have been VERY good to me, very quick shipping, and when they sent me a wrong flavour once they said If i buy another one they will send another one for FREE.THey have often let me off $20 here and there as well.Their protein seems to be quite cheap and good value. These are the supplements I am thinking of buying in my order, I want to get back into training hard, I want to lose alot of fat, and then stop the cardio and clean bulk hard. - Protein Powder- BCAA- Creatine- Multi VitaminsWhat you guys think? Pseudonym
I think you should reward companies with good service. I'm often willing to pay more (within reason!) to companies I like.As for your shopping list - looks pretty good. Personally, I'm not sold on the BCAAs, and a lot of protein powders have extra BCAAs added anyway. For what it's worth though, several people here swear by them...
