Another day another p.b.  

 

Seated military press starting from a dead stop below the chin.

 

60kg x 10

80kg x 5

90kg x 2

100kg x 1

105kg x 1   I think p.b

110kg x 1    Definate p.b

100kg x 2 sets of 3 

 

Behind neck shoulder press 60kg x 3 sets of 8

 

Left out assistance today as tendons or biceps sore again from the low bar the other day . Thats 3 days of p.bs in a row for me now so very happy. Thats basically the first program complete now aside from the week of deload and have added at least 15kg to the 3 lift total, 10kg to squat and 5kg to bench but possibly could have got 7.5 to 10 on that just didnt try for a new training total of 645kg also a 10kg added to military press and didnt test the deadlift.  Wrapped that Wookie chose to give me a program, cheers mate.

everyone on wookie method doing so good, was that 5 weeks? so added 3kg per week to total thats good money

Yeah i know bro its awesome aye everyone has done wicked as. About 4 and a bit weeks i think as i had to change rest days so i could get two workout days over the weekend. The good thing is i can run it again with increased numbers and have had some good feedback from Wookie on what i can change form wise which gets me looking forward to the next phase . Got me excited about benching again haha

i had a look at gpc records, and in open u90 or u82.5 you're not far off setting records at all. 82.5kg open records are 230/140/230, 90kg open are 250/175/255

thats if the website is up to date.

you should compete next year.

Sorry just saw this. Thought the numbers would be much higher than that. Yeah I'm definitely going to compete next year I'll just travel to where the meet is as we don't have many round here.

So now I'm getting my goals set for the future. I have some numbers I'd like to reach which I don't think are to far fetched.

Squat I want to eventually hit 3 x bodyweight in sleeves and belt only . This will be around 248-250kg currently 230kg last week. Maybee I had 2.5 to 5 kg max more in the tank but no more.

Bench I want to hit a pause 2 x bodyweight which would be around 166-168kg currently 155kg last week and maybee have got close to 160kg.

Deads I don't really know. I'm so up and down with these I pulled 260 about 6 weeks ago but last week 245 stalled at knees but still got it . Whether it caught on knee sleeves I don't know but when I look at my 260 vid it looked so much easier using a rolling start. So I'm around the 3 x bodyweight dead still but I'd like to get up to 280 in the shorter term ( just under 3.5 x bodyweight) . I think there will be a bit of work involved to reach these targets but willing to do what it takes . Really enjoyed the first block of Wookie program and got a good 15kg on my total in 5 weeks . Chuffed as with that.

In other news Mr Skeletor stopped sucking at deadlifts today.

Yeah haha well i was only going to try for 250 but you kind of put the pressure on saying id better hit 260.

 

 

any idea what changed?

Went back to a rolling start mate. Plus actually doing the deload this time unlike a couple of days last time. I definately like a rolling start i seem to get set perfect midsection wise and my lats engage nicely as its rolling back .

So tried wraps on a bigger set today after doing my first set in sleeves and can now see why people rate them . Was only set of 8 at 190 but they sprung me out of the whole like it was 140 . Had them up at a medium tightness which is probably considered loose to actual powerlifters with criss cross fashion and yeah good. Cant say I like the feeling of them but obvious carryover there.

Still carrying on with low bar squats . Almost finished second week of program for the third round and still getting gains and low bar has now surpassed high bar strength. Today was as follows.

Squats.. in sleeves

60kg x 8

100kg x 5

140kg x 5

180kg x 2 add belt

200kg x 1

210kg x 5

200kg x 5

200kg x 5 in wraps. So easy

Program going real good and just adding what I feel is comfy progression each week. Current bodyweight is 84.2kg.

glad wraps are starting to work for you bro. was same for me at first, felt like they gave me nothing and was more hassle than anything. couple months later i dread heavy unwrapped squats lol

That would be awesome .   Ill be chucking in the wraps on bigger sets during the next phase to see what i can get out of them and slowly increase weight each round hopefully.  

3rd round of Wookie program complete.    Quite happy im still increasing all my lifts and finally hit a 160kg pause bench which was a huge long time goal of mine.  Managed to nail a p.b squat this week 0f 235kg in sleeves to so double wammy . Dead has finally come back to 260kg which was my previous 1rm but struggled on 245 immediately prior to starting program so looking around 655kg training total.  Bodyweight around 84kg and have just started on the Musclefuel meals x 2 a day on top of my other eats to ensure im getting good macros. Mostly straight after training and during the day as this is when i normally never eat.  Had chicken breast one and steak today and both were mint .   Anyway really enjoying this program so will stick with it for a while and just go hard getting used to wraps and learning what i can from others to get that total up.
