ditching sheiko for the wookie

Went for a swim tonight. Surprised myself was faster than i used to be when i swam often, but fuckall stamina lol. So swam lengths and just mucked around for 45 mins, was fun for a change

Decided i want to compete in gpc australia vic championship in march so thats the main competition im going to plan towards and its a long way away. Maybe a novice 3 lift between now and then but will sun with wookie when calendars are all out

 

edit: competition is 2nd-3rd of April. depending how that goes, and calendar and a few other things i will try and line up to do nz nats after that, but priority for now is the next training block and getting a lot stronger

changing gym.

my mate works as PT at my gym, and he just told me the manager asked him to ask me to "put weights down more carefully" 

 

thats a joke, the guys too much of a pussy to say anything in person, just stands and watches even though i can see the pain in his eyes when i make a racket with loud deads lol

 

PTC is too far for me but im gonna check out a place called iron revolution on the weekend, its a powerlifting/strongman gym, affiliated with APL so won't get hassled for wearing wraps etc, but they have good quality bars etc, i reckon its time to move to a proper gym anyway

 

 

 

should get out of my current contract at shiny gym by telling the guy its not suitable if i cant do deadlifts lol wot

What gym gives you a hard time for wearing wraps bro?

my mate trains at place called obsidian strength. i would go there but they all compete in pa (ipf) and the one time i went there the owner/coach/guy made a big fuss about me wearing wraps and rather than telling them to stfu and being that guy, il just not train there lol. 

 

they have anti wraps kind of mind set there and dont rate lifts with wraps in general was the impression i got lol which is pretty pathetic its 2.5 metres of fabric who cares its not a competition

just checked on google maps, 30 mins, not as bad as i thought, il check this place out on weekend (less than 5km from my house - spoiled for choice in melbourne) and if not 100% happy il just suck it up and go ptc, 

 

def at a point now where i dont want to waste kgs on a less than perfect bench or non grippy bar etc so itll be worth it anyway, shiny gym waste of time

 

iron rev will def be suitable i reckon, at least one person from there competing in proraw too actually so good atmosphere im sure

Got my programming for the week. Start of peaking block. Looks hard. Im ready. Feeling fresh gone a bit mental from not lifting heavy for a week.

On a good note also i adjusted my diet a bit and bw is down to 107.0kg (109.5 a week ago) . Think iv found a good balance between eating enough to be strong but little enough to not get fatter so hopefully maintaim this. No rush though i just need to be 100 or so in april to compete under 100

Yeah bro im not sure of specifics like if i have to do another one first to qualify or something but from what i read so far sounds like i just become a member and sign up?

I dont care that il get my ass handed to me at big competition like that just keen on big crowd etc mean atmosphere

If you do the state champs and don't make the top 15 in your weight class that you need to for Aus nats. Then you can come over to NZ in July and do GPC NZ nats. You don't need to qualify in NZ an Aus qualifier will suffice and just join up as a GPC NZ member. A good idea bro!

Awesome bro thats my first choice tbh so odds are that will be what i do

Lot of work to be done especially on bench but feeling good about big increase over next 6-7 months

Got bored so started program tonight. So this week will do sun mon tue Thurs. Allgood. Real fresh after deload. Shoulders biceps and everything felt perfect squatting. Rest is good !!

Wookie peak block w1d1

Squat

60 x 5

100 x 5

140 x 5

160 x 3

180 x 3

192.5kg x 8 wrapped. Rep pr

175kg 2 x 8 no wraps. Need to buy sleeves.

Squats felt a bit weird. Strength was there just bit off form wise but still good as. Happy.

Hack squat

160kg 3 x 8

Waist is down. Belt 1 notch tighter so 3 notches total tighter than when i bought it 8 weeks ago. Same body weight.

Is all that you have being doing these months part of a giant wookie program or are these all seperate programs? If so what would you call each block

From memory:

Finished sheiko 4 day

Tested got 202.5/112.5/230

wookie deload 1 week

wookie volume block 6 weeks

wookie deload 1 week

Now im in week 1 of wookie peak block so i think in 6 weeks i will test again

Ok bad news i may have got my first injury.. see how i feel tomorrow

On a good note at least i got most of my bench reps done and only flagged accessory

Bench press

60 x 10

117.5 x 1 when i reracked this my shoulder felt off

100 x 8 rpe 10 shoulder still weird

95 x 6 failed.

Once i had a walk around shoulder / pec quite sore. No good. Was gonna try db bench next but thatd just be retarded

Hopefully i just had an off day and didnt warm up and stretch enough.. see how i feel tomorrow.

Real annoyed that i had to fail this early in program. Rage level 100

Dodged bullet maybe i reckon. 1/10 pain this morning so got lucky maybe cos it was quite bad last night. Feels sweet apart from a little sore when doing some rotations this morning. Probably be sweet soon as.
