Squat pain

Recommended Posts

First off.. apologies for the paint-edit pic. Was a google images selection.

Over the past 3 weeks i've noticed some slight pain at the top of my legs (Near where they meet the hips) when hitting parallel/below parallel on my back squats. The pain is more a discomfort/weird stretch feeling. I have attached an image and circled the area that seems to be affected.

I should note... This discomfort occurs even when squatting without added weight.

Hack squats are fine, leg press is fine, lunges are fine.

Anyone around here ever experienced this? Am going to give the back squats a rest for a couple of weeks to see if I come right, but if anyone has experienced anything like this, your input would be appreciated.

One last note - I just spent about 2-3mins squatting at different depths to pinpoint the area and I can still feel a slight... dull...discomfort now that I'm lying down.

Cheers people

Hey mate, the link above is a thread which has lots of solutions for the issue you are having. I had that issue just recently and it has just about got better. I did lots of warm up sets and leg raises between sets.

Tbh I havent really been doing back squats as they seemed to be the worst for it.
