Oh... well excuuuuuse me for being impressed. Disregard.. cut and paste in 2 weeks, insert whatever weight lifted.

Lol was just saying it's good that it's that close to them considering the way it moved.

That's what progress looks like. One coach, trust the process, work fucking hard.

Been a little slack on this last few days.

Wow... arm pain today 2/10 basically non existent. Was programmed in to bench 160x1. But was easy. We decided   Go bigger due to arms not hurting so 170, 182.5. I hit that pretty well which is the most I have benched since April. Jono called me and asked if I could do 190, I said prob not. He asked what I thought I would do then I said I dunno 190 lol. Then I did it. So 190 is the heaviest I have benched since tearing my pec in September last year. This is a massive personal victory. I was so happy. 200 at Comp is now not out of the question. Never give up. 2 weeks ago I barely benched 175.

taken my wrist wraps off too, I don't think it helps my arm problem restricting the blood flow to my hands

squat

to 220x1, 260x1, 290x1, 310x1

walkout hold (10sec)

335x10sec

leg extension

2x30

310kg is a PB. Thought it moved well considering barbell is wobbly when I squat down. This will likely be my second attempt at nationals. By comp day I will be fresh as so hoping this will move a little faster too. One more heavy session left then we wait till the day and leave it all on the platform.

Rest day today and tommorow. Been thinking about my openers and I'll probably go with 290/182.5/310. But that depends how my last deadlift and bench session goes. Don't even think I'll have to bath that long I'll probably loose 3-4kg just from the water depletion come Thursday then I think that will probably do it. I'm staying local to the venue this time.

in April I cut near 10kg and then we drove from Tauranga to Auckland that morning so was up at 2.30am having to make weight before I left. This time I'll only have to be under weight for 0945am then leave to weigh in at 1000am. Which is great and so much easier.

light squat session tonight, everything obviously moved really well. This is the real last week of training before the comp. I'll have tmw as a rest day. Wednesday going to take the deadlift up to 330kg then on Thursday I'll bench up to 165kg and that should move really fast im hoping. Another light squat session on Friday I think I go up to 240kg. Then I'll take saturfay off and probably train a light circut Sunday/monday/Wednesday morning. I'm going to start my water load a day earlier this time so start it on Sunday and drink 10L Sunday and Monday this time. Last time I started the 10L Monday for one day. Being lighter at the start I will keep some carbs in this time as well. Last time I ran a keto approach for the last week which worked really well but I don't have 10kg to drop this time right now I have 5kg to drop expecting by end of this week to have 6kg  to get rid of due to a little more water retention from the last week or so.

i feel the best I have felt leading into a comp before. I probably put that down to mentally being in a better space that I was for the gpc Auckland champs. I got a really good 3 or 4 people who constantly encourage me and keep me going. Really want to repay them by putting in a good performance.

A few people asked me what I think I'll total or what I want to total. I want to win the overall at the comp first so if I forfeit a better total to just win like I did last year at nationals then that's more important to me. But I think there are a few guys competing that will push me to give my absolute all.

Really amping for this.

ok so today didn't go as I had planned it. My fault. My programme was to 330x1, my 320 came up really well. So I just got too excited and cocky and jumped to 340. Dumb. This was just too heavy today and it didn't even get past my knees. I then dropped the bar down to 330 and failed that around lock out. Was moving terribly slow and I got into a bad position due to it being too heavy. Dropped it. no point tearing something which was where it was heading. No excuses just a miss. f*ck sakes!

got 3 videos below in the order of attempts. I'm not too proud or to put up my misses. It's a training journal and it's important to log it all. Just gonna make me hungrier. I should have stuck to the plan and I'm confident I would have got 330 and finished up more confident for more at comp. as they "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush". My PB is 325 which I did in April so a 320 to 340 was a little stupid.

gonna open on 310 then go to 330 next Saturday. 3rd we will see. Still happy with that 320 and of course dissapointed with the other two lifts but mentally not bothered that I missed them.

i just can't wait to compete again and put my comp vids up next to these ones post comp. bring it.

I'd be highly surprised by 350 dead. Like a year ago or whatever I had 330 come up easy but then 340 (which I assumed I'd get based on how the 330 moved) I failed just a bit higher than where you did, as in nowhere near lockout. For me at least the weights up there seem to start getting heavy really fast.

Hopefully you're stronger and can pull off at least 340 though. No one currently on this forum seems to have been able to crack it (that I'm aware of?). Good luck with it anyway man, keen to see vids of your attempts, successful or not.

See how it goes man. 350 won't happen because I won't attempt it. But I'm confident of 330 for my second. I lift more in comps compared to training on squat and deadlift which is credit to the way the cycle is planned out. Dropped 5kg of actual bodyweight from April. Will Cut to u100. This cycle has been my best one yet i feel like considering the weight drop I think that's pretty good. after 330 I guess it depends where I'm at energy wise as to what I attempt next. Probably be a small comp which means a fast comp - less rest between the 3 lifts. Not always a bad thing. Yeah I'll film all my attempts as I always do. I like watching film after every attempt straight away and basing my next attempt off how it looked. So will have the vids on tap cuz!

Meh decided to resume it into this final week. This is water load/deplete week to make weight so it's a pretty important week and would be silly not to log it just because of another thread. All I'll say in regards to that is if you want to judge someone's ability to lead a federation based on what they say on social media then do I have good surprises for you guys.

so I weighed in this morning at home at 107.1kg. I got as low as 105 2-3 weeks ago. I had a bit of a plan with my nutrition which wasn't extreme by any means but a few changes here and there helped me loose some bodyfat and I definitely gained muscle mainly in my posterior chain. I think maybe my upper body was bigger this time last year before I went to world champs. For the only reason that since then I just haven't been able to get a good run with any kind of intensity and volume on the bench and ohp which I feel like has been made up for through my legs and p-chain.

I didn't expect to be 105kg today, I had said earlier in this journal that I would be heavier due to what I have done the last week or two which results in water retention. But I'm in a better position this time than I was in the last time I did this which was April - I think the thurs morning before Friday weigh I was 106.3. Be good to compare ad the week progresses. So I have to drink at least 10L today, I'm already down about 3. Going to have a training about lunch time.
