Really light session. Been sick since Friday so wasn't going to train until tommoroe but came right this afternoon so got session in.  Thinking by thurs I'll be 100%. Kinda good to get the winter cold out the way now rather than come up any closer to nationals. Can't help it but wasn't too bad.

6/7

deadlift

to 285x3x2, 260x2

hamstring curl

3x15

lat pull down

3x15

damn those were hard. Was programmed as 285 doubles for 6 sets. I almost failed the 3rd set then dropped it to 260 and moved like crap. Still not recovered from being sick was sweating lots and no stamina set to set. so taking tmw off training and come back Friday. I filmed the first set 285x2 so here is the video. The point being I wanted to film the first and the sixth. Oh well no point trying to push and rush back when the body's not ready.

squat

to 255x2x3, 220x3x3, 200x8

leg press

7ppsx3x12

leg extension

3x15

decided to train today felt better. 255s were wrapped other sets no wraps. Found the hoist leg press at my gym... Wow best leg press I have ever used. Gains coming. 7 weeks Saturday till nationals, might not log my training on here from then maybe just give quick weekly updates. Everyone read my journal and gives them big advantage.

video is 2nd triple at 255.

Who that reads this forum and is competing in UPANZ or whatever it's called is going to be in your weight class?

tom is cutting to be in my weight class with my special diet plan

also i think it's just a novice comp, hence no qualifiers/slack rules / attempts at records. aint that right?

You are right the comp this Saturday is a novice comp. you are right that there are no records and it will be a relaxed comp. Dunno about slack rules but I know the guys up there are really wanting to grow the sport and encourage people into it so if the judging isn't perfect or is a bit relaxed and the comp is used as a learning experience for people who are new to it, like yourself. then I'm ok with that. At nationals I expect it to be of a high standard.

Anyway we were talking about the Nationals. That is what PETN is talking about when he asked about weight class and the competition. I'll be u110 this weekend but weight irrelevant cause it a novice comp and I'm just using it as a training session/warm up to nats. Gonna triple my last deadlift so yeah it's not a world championship. We will all have lots of fun. I been told there about 15 lifters competing and people coming up from as far as Wellington for it. Will be a good supportive comp.

squats

180x2x3, 210x3x3, 180x2x3

leg extension

4x12

one more session tmw or Wednesday then rest till comp Saturday.

plan will be -

squat

265/285/more or pass

Bench

175/185/190

deadlift

280/300/310x3

Expecting it to be reasonably comfortable. The final deadlift attempt is an amrap but will be happy with 3. A double will suffice though. This comp is a training session so hopefully the guys running the comp are sweet with me doing that. If not no worries I can respect that. So this will conclude the volume blocks for this prep. Following the comp will be a speed deload week and then it's into peaking for nationals and going for the total im capable of and should have got last year in America.
