Tues 8th

Deadlift

60x10, 100x5, 140x3, 180x2, 220x1, 260x1, 305x1, 320x1

Lat pulldown - too sore, hurt lat.

Hamstring curl

15x3

Tricep ext

15x3

320kg single moved well, felt quite easy. 15kg gym PB. Didn't feel anything in the pulls but I went to pulldown machine after and felt quite sore in my left lat lol. Just a small tear/strain I think so icing it at the moment. I probably need to drink more water I think. But 9ish days (16th USA time) till I lift it'll be sweet by then. That was my last heavy session I have a few more sessions left which will be light/speed/rehab sessions. Pretty relieved that my last heavy session is done and I can't wait to lift.

Strong as an Ox bro !

Glad to see the body is bouncing back in reasonable shape.

Hopefully holds together for world's and doesn't give you anymore grief.

Best of luck, you've done all you can and have put in the hard work. Time to rest up to showcase it on the international stage.

Cheers bro just ice this lat and from Friday onwards just roll it out and get into it. it's only a wee strain I think and will be fine in 8 days time. Yeah I cannot wait to compete! So amped! Also can't wait to have 2 weeks off the gym after this comp and the have a good rest from thrashing it and get into some bodybuilding split stuff for a few months afterwards. That will be a nice change but I'll speak about that post comp. gonna be itching to go in a week

Strong as am ox man. That 320.. wtf. . Easy.

Your close grip bench is pretty close to the same style Alex Lowe uses. Arms in tight to the body really strong arch. At this rate you'll be getting an 800 total with a less than best bench :) impressive work

Yeah mate ideally don't want to bench like this but see how I go. will be making a solid plan tommorow evening after my last squat day for the comp day will let you guys know my plans.

Had last physio session today, she is really happy with things and reckons I'm good to go.

Openers and seconds for comp will be:

Squat 285/305

Bench 150/170-180

Deadlift 305/325

3rds be decided after seconds, seconds may change also after openers.

Bench im gonna go be feel, warm it up really thoroughly and press quite narrow (close grip) I think my max close grip would probably only be 180ish so I can't see myself going over that unless I bring in an element of risk. My heart says bench hard and max but my head says no.

Out of the 4 comps I have done (excluding the nzpf novice comp I did in 2011 when I didn't even know what powerlifting was) this is by far the best and most confident Iv felt 5 days out. Feeling really strong and I just want to compete tommorow. In 5 days time I'm going to be ready to fire.

You guys won't hear from me again until the night before or morning of the comp. I'll probably make a little video from Vegas telling you about the weigh in and what the world champs week is like from my eyes. Talk about what I been eating in the lead up and what I'll eat on the day. Bit more exciting than writing it and quicker too. I'll have a safe trip and talk to you guys from the big bad US of A.

Hope I don't need that much luck lol.

Went and checked out the comp today all the girls lifted. We had 4 girls competing in our team. One pulled out from injury. One master competitor won gold and set 4 new WR. Court who organised our teams whole thing got 3rd in a class that came down to the final deadlifts to decide the placings. And our junior girl placed 4th.

So 2 medals out of 3 females today pretty successful day for our team of 7 so far (6 who will compete).

Highlight of day after watching the girls from NZ succeed was meeting stan efferding. He is a unit in the flesh and so lean too. It's Olympia week this week so prob see a few big fellas round later in the week. Food here is not cheap like everyone says... Cheap if you want to eat like a fat arse. Good quality nutritious food is expensive when you take into account exchange rate. If you want to live off pieces of pizza and pastries/cookies then yeah it's cheap. What else... Not much it's really hot but it's a dry heat about 15% humidity. Chugging the water back. Weighed myself tonight on comp scales before I left comp. 109.4kg. So in morning with no food I'll expect to be 106-107 same I was at nationals. All good. Be in touch on here tues evening with a vid. I lift wed. Really excited and feeling strong.

Food is reasonable price just don't eat at the hotels bro. Also get yourself some Chipotle it's good as and healthy heaps of carbs and protein.

Good luck for the meet bro, I'm sure it will be a wicked experience!

Weighed this morning 108.4kg

I have good chance at bronze. 1 and 2 are set in stone I would say both go over 900. But bronzes achievable and realistic so gonna go for it, keep myself in it in squats and bench then make up numbers and pull for bronze in the final deadlift. This means I need to go 8/8 up to the final deadlift. I'm not even going to look at the scores on the table screen till after the squat and bench are over.

Lift in 11 hours. Time for bed. Peace.
