Starting off 2014

Being the start of a new year, I figured it was a good time to post some progress pics so that A) you can tell me what needs attention in 2014, and B) I'll be able to see the improvements at the end of the year - well, hopefully.

I know what things I think need work, but I'll see what you guys say first.

Oh, and excuse the number of ab shots - it's a new place, and I'm still trying to find the best spot for lighting. :D

Just the annual summer cut, Jimmybro! Although I try and stay reasonably lean year-round now. Also, my current training partner is ridiculously shredded, so there's a bit of a competitive element involved - expecially on ab days!

Goals this year are physique-related. My joints aren't healthy enough to train for strength (in fact even high-rep stuff is a bit of a problem right now...)

Tim - I'm 31, 6'0" (183cm) and currently around 88.5kg. I'd like to get leaner, and be over 90kg.

So, any other feedback? Constructive criticism welcomed...

Lats, back thickness and hamstrings need some work. Apart from that pretty well balanced.

How's the back? Wernt you keen on getting into dead lifting again? They might help this :) ?

Yeah, I've still been having niggling lower back problems, so I haven't managed to get back to proper deadlifts, but I've been doing rack pulls every now and then. I think a bit more consistency here could be beneficial. Partly because of the back issues, I've been a bit slack with the legs. And it shows. That will be addressed this year!

Interesting no-one's mentioned arms. Looking at these shots, I felt the double bicep poses were particularly lacking. Again, that's largely due to injury - turns out the cartilage on my right humerus is worn, so I can't even do a pushup without it grinding. Anyway, that's another area I want to bring up.

And lats, too? I actually thought my lats were better than they look here, and I know I felt really stiff while posing the other night. So I don't think I did my lats justice. I might throw in a few weeks of stretching, then try taking some more shots.

Hmm... By the time I've brought up the lagging parts, I might need to revise my goal weight. 95kg, come at me!

I wouldn't say your arms are lagging... Maybe triceps hard to judge of the photos you posted though.

As for your lats I wasn't talking about width more general development/thickness. I think the biggest lagging muscle group is your hamstrings most people have that issue though commonly neglected muscle.
