Did I possibly stunt my growth?

Hi, these pictures are about 4 years ago, in my teen years, maybe 16-19. I was a skinny kid in comparison to other peers. Availiability of food was never a problem when growing up. I always had access to all junk food I wanted and fizzy drinks + I always got good nutritious foods too. But I was always slim. In my last years of school I was around 53-55-57kg IIRC at around 5'8-5'10. I had late puberty. If you look at those stats with BMI I was underweight or on the border line.

I don't understand how some one can be categorized as "underweight" when the person has a wide range of food they like and want available to them. I never starved myself. I used to pig out when I got home from school.

I've always been paranoid if I hindered my vertical growth. Do you think this is a possiblity considering my low body weight?

But then If you look at my pictures from about 4 years ago I don't look like a starving bony child, do I? I think thats when I started doing press ups.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, James. Why/how do you think you might've stunted your growth?

Those pics just look like your typical skinny teenager who has the metabolism to eat anything and everything. (At 6 foot and 60kg, I was the same.)

The question is, what do you look like now?

I thought I may of stunted growth by unintentionally and unknowingly eating too little, below the recommendations, and classed as underweight on the BMI scale.

I have read before that gymnastic teens have a tendency to be shorter then that of their peers because of a resriction in calories to stay lean for the sport. As well, the sport of wrestling that is popular in the USA, the teens during the wrestling period cut calories back to drop weight to be able to compete at a certrain weight bracket and then during the off season theres a period of 'catch up growth' where there's an accelerated growth due to increased cals.

I was worried I unintentionally didn't grow to my potential due to a lack of calories. I was probally in the top 3 lightest for every class at school.

I know theres no point dwelling on the past but if some one can tell me for sure if I did or not, would be great. Its just always been at the back of my mind.

dont get caught up on height lol! it's one of those things in your genetic code and don't think you were restricting your cals anywhere near enough to do something like stunt your growth. judging from the pics you were on the normal side of skinny in your school days.

i have a nephew who has been severely undereating (one of those modern 'aesthetic' wannabes inspired by the wrong shit like justin bieber) but he's been going through growth spurts at same time.. when he was kind of average height he was even skinnier than you definately eating less than you were and now he's like 6'3 still growing every time i see him but looking like a deprived 3rd world child.

not saying you can't stunt your growth just judging from watching newphews growth i reckon it has to be pretty bad food deficit for something like that to happen
