Went to the crossfit box where they're holding the comp next weekend and they only had bumpers so only just managed to fit the weights on. Had no room for the collars so had to band up the plates to stop them from falling off. Because it was a proper oly bar and the thick plates meaning the weight was right at the end of the bar, the bar was whippy as f*ck even from 220 so I had to descend slowly and even then it was a mission to stabilise the bar enough so I wouldn't fall over. Anyway got first rep of 260 easy but it was about an inch above depth which I knew so went for a second rep and only just hit depth I think. Nearly got stuck in the middle but managed to grind thru. I'd call it a PB but first rep was high so doesn't really count.

Deadlift felt ok. Lowering the bar after first rep it came down to the left a bit and plates slid out. Tried second rep without adjusting and couldn't get it due to the imbalance. Good train though. Pretty confident of at least matching my last comp total

Lol no just being pussy faggot and coming up too early. Just need to be more patient and sink deeper. Wraps make me feel like I hit depth earlier so I need to drop another inch after I feel I've hit depth but I forgot about it on the first rep. New Harris knee and wrist wraps were mean as btw. Solid as

Did squats and deads up to 140 today. Did 3 sets of 3 on the squats and one set of 3 on the deadlift. Right elbow was a little sore on squats so hopefully 5 days of rest will fix it. Will do 3 sets of 3 on bench at 80kg on Wednesday and a light back workout. Not looking forward to Thursday for weight cut

Alright so there was no morning 24 hour weigh in, only 12 hour weigh in for this comp so I didn't even attempt to make weight after I found out on Wednesday. Just weighed in this evening at 87.5kg which is my 'real' weight. Spent a few hours getting everything ready for tomorrow.

 

Should be a good day tomorrow. Pretty amped for it and looking forward to the first comp of the year!

 

Attempts will be

Squat 260/270/280

Bench 145/150/155

Deadlift 240/250/260

If I get all 9 attempts that will be 695kg total which would be 10kg total PB.

Got 275/150/240 665kg total. Came second overall to Tom who killed it. Did well on the squat, ok on the bench and terrible on the deadlifts. Off to Hamilton to get turnt for last night of O week so will do proper update on Monday
