fark about 3 months off.. think I'll start to ease my way back in to this.

2016 update

was going slightly insane working like 12 hours a day (or more) plus on weekends, forced to take some leave and ended up having the best time of my life on a contiki tour around europe. just got back in to nz after a month off (including a bit of time in amsterdam at the end on my own) with new views on life and all that. started drinking and done some other crazy things that i'd never try back home. wild times, now how should i re-introduce lifting back in to my life?

very slowly getting back in to it.. not taking my work home with me anymore but I've since become some form of alocholic mess where i just get drunk alone every night after work instead of doing anything productive. i used to find a lot of peace in being alone, now it's just loneliness and other random dark feelings, guess it's just the withdrawal symptoms of being around all these fun people exploring the world and partying hard for a month.  no more focus in life, nothing feels fun or enjoyable anymore, most of all i feel completely lost as to what to do with all my free time now that i'm not bringing my work home with me lol. all my chi is outta whack or some shit, nothing that a few corrective lifting sessions cant fix right?

chur for the love bros, not sure what's going on, guess i just had one of those life changing experiences where i experienced somethign way different then came back to realise i probably missed the boat years ago to live that life and can't change now due to mortage commitments, being in a job that i can't easily leave or whatever.. on the bright side i'm getting a promotion so maybe can go on another trip at the end of the year.

last week tried to be a little more productive than just get drunk everynight. tried to contact old mates from highschool days again, the ones that i completely lost touch of when work somehow became the center of my universe. everyone my age is all settled down now with kids and stuff. its kind of wierd, is this a quarter life crisis? thought by age of 26 i'd have regular hangout pals and all that shit sorted.

got out and started biking, too. there is a certain stretch of road locally where i can pedal in excess of 65kph for 20 sec or so (50k zone) , started off by kind of subconsciously doing it, now it's like my secret hobby gives me a little thrill... i like to overtake cars on that road, it really makes me feel alive. fkin dangerous, i don't consciously feel like throwing my life away but most life preserving logic is out the window now and i take a certain pleasure from the thrill. am i an emo now?

day 264

28/02

58.4kg

bench 3x5x20kg, 5x40kg, 3x5x45kg, 5x40kg

behind neck press 3x5x20kg

kettlebell stuff

day 265

29/02

57.7kg

deadlifts 2x5x70kg, 3x90kg, 8x120kg

Probably best to wait until you're a bit less emo?

Settled down with kids at 26? Bugger that! You've got at least another 10 years of living to do before you need to worry about that.

I personally think that shorter holidays and more of them are better than a single big OE anyway. I think you remember more this way. Start planning for your next trip now.

Oh, and find a hobby that's not dicing with death! Scuba diving, perhaps... You can still kill yourself on scuba if you try, but it's slightly more preventable than overtaking cars on a bike at speed down a steep West Auckland street.

Hah gotta love GymNation, I kinda just write up my diary here expecting to be trolled, but it's great. Enough anonymity for me to feel safe writing what's really going on and good people keeping it real here with that life advice, it's hard talking to people you know about this stuff especially when you keep up such a strong persona and people give you shit for showing the least bit if emotion., I'm gonna keep on persisting with stuff even though it feels like I'm going through the motions on literally everything right now and hopefully try give myself little goals like aiming for an amateur lifting comp or something.  BTW sites really easily accessible on mobile now it's great!

It's very addictive. It's also healthy, challenging (mentally and physically), and it will leave you poor enough that you won't be able to afford any other substances... :-p

thanks for the chats macca! helped motivate me to atleast get back in to the rhythm of things. i stopped biking for a couple days as it stopped being meditative and instead turned in to something destructive. im gonna start sheiko, probably not made for newbies like me but better than going in and doing whatever without any aim i guess.

lifted a bit yesterday, it helped increase my appetite heaps just from 1 session! strangely even tho i been eating jack all lately my weights been pretty stable , even gained 3 kilos since i got back.. then again i been drinking a fair bit too (and by eating jack all i mean 1 - 2 slice of bread with margargine + strawberry jam breakfast, 4 slice bread + chop chop chicken for lunch (if i can be bothered making it, which most times i dont, and not hungry enough to walk out to buy anything), dinner = same as breakfast if i feel hungry). i been making up for it by eating lots of chocolate tho, and goddamn the pimples show it.. pimples on scalp hurt like a mofo.

anyway, im feeling like i really need this 1 goal in my life right now to help me see something through and hopefully bounce in to other things on the way, committing now! made myself a pizza for lunch last night, ate the whole thing at work, though not all at once thanks to supressed appetite due to eating almost nothing recently lol. am i doing it right in terms of powerlifter diet? pizza and ice cream every day?

06/03

@Wookie is he right in starting with #37 in the numbered sheikos ? I was thinking from memory when i told him 29 or 37. Are either ok? Compared to what he was doing previously its gonna be good whatever he does i guess.
