Back into the journal - have h afew callenges post comp with cramping sohavent een able to train legs - although hitting it tonight to see what comes.

Bodyweight dropped over 2 weeks from 117kg to 110kg for the Northland show - I think I was around 8% but being only a qualifier for next year I wasnt too worried.  Pretty happy with how it went and discouvered a few things about my glide path that will help me for sure in next years competitions.

2 days after comp I weighed in at 114kg > I had a relax over the weekend still eating mostly to plan but did have a 4000 cal blow out post show and woke up dryer and vascular lol - water was still coming out.

This week asof yesterday I weighed in at 113kg so still on target to hit 110kg by 1st December - where I will hold through Christmas and just have 4-6weeks of general assistance/bodybuilding style training.  Then at the start of february I will start conditioning my strength again ready for a few strength events in the new year.

Will update over the next few weeks as I try to dial in a deadlift.  Im back to physio this week on my hip and also will no doubt be get work done on fixing the cramping issue.  Quite painful - have had them in my glutes and quads - and not during leg sessions.  Initiates during upper body workouts too.  Up date again soon :)

Whats the issue with your hip?

Hip flexor is being compressed over the joint and is getting caught - google snapping hip - thats what the physio said was most likely.  Thought there was a labril tear but fortunately it has come right with treatment so its unlikely.  And Xray was clear of any cartlidge.

Have been rolling it and stretching and its better - but havent been able to test it due to cramps in my legs even with the lightest of weights during warmup.  Body is a bit of a mess today lol.  Quads seized under 120kg - had to go doc so bad.  On rest now for a week and bloods checked tomorrow ... wait and see

have a few challenges post comp with cramping

Sodium balance, do you think? Had you used a diuretic for the comp?

Water and sodium loaded as normal but I used the Ripped Freak brand this time (for the whole week lol) ... worked really good.

I dont think its sodium though as I have reloaded and tapered.  Magnisium is possible as I started loading it yesterday and there has been a mild improvement today.  Bloods come back tomorrow so will update on a verdict.

Latest Vid - not bad session 190 1+1 done last Wednesday.  Still run maintinance cals to reduce bodyfat - but strength is holding which is good.  LEgs last Monday managed to get half way through the session before cramps kicked in.  420 x 8 reps felt good - but seized after 4 sets of leg extension.  Happens on some days and not others now but improving.

This bench session all good from a progress stand point - hope to blast a 200kg clean - possible 205-10 in next fes week.  Have done 205 twice this year so be good to get it up with a vid and at 110kg BW.

Deadlifts an unknown lift at the moment - rack pulls ok the week before last to 220kf and then didnt pressure to much this week for 230kg x 4 reps.  Legs the key for me so hopefully my electrolite balance returns soon to 100%.

Monday Night Legs:

Squats:  Just taking it easy - first session squating since a few weeks befor the body builing comp - injury reconditioning.  170kg working set x 8 reps.  Nice and comfortable - no pressure.

Last night:  Deadlift only session went well.  Tech is rusty as but managed to hit a few key milestones.

Easy double at 250kg which is the 125kg GPA sub-master WR

272.5 @109kg is my GPA record set last year - so hitting a single @ 280kg despite not getting under the bar at the start (all back) - encouraging.  Really enjoy being back to squating and deadlifting - no injuries and will hopefully start making some gains in preparation for master competitions next year in Oz.

Vid below :)  ... new Kiwistrength supersuit is strong!

they havent even followed up with me lol - I am actually pissed off though.  Am going to stop in there this afternoon and ask wtfs going on.  Paid $70 for a consult - waited nearly an hour - given two panadol fo rthe pain - sent home. Will never ever go to an A&E clinic again.

I think its safe to say electrolites imbalance - and that my body was probably too efficient at pushing water out which for a big muscle group was difficult to manage - will post up when I find out.

:)
