Enhanced vs Natural bodybuilding

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this has been discussed in the past......

But what things could enhanced BBers get away with or would do differently compared to natural competitors?

I'm talking in terms of contest preparation, the advantages of being enhanced. as a small example, the ability to do more cardio without the sacrifice as much muscle as a natural BBer.

keen to hear everyone's views

Natural guys don't need to worry so much about water retention, but look a lot flatter whereas enhanced guys are much fuller.

Being enhanced has many advances when it comes to dieting. Things like T3 and clen help increase metabolism, don't have to worry about hormone levels declining etc.

Pman did a series of articles on his old web-site a number of years back on the disadvantage of natural body-builders pre-comp. I have the originals but they're too big to put on here & the old link has gone...

Here's a bit:

Much of the difficulty in getting contest lean is not losing fat, in and of itself – it’s keeping muscle mass while you do it. If you’ve got the chemical ability to hang on to muscle while in a significant calorie deficit, then you’re already one leg up. This is the benefit of anabolic steroids. Even in low doses, they’ll assist in hanging on to muscle tissue.

This is compounded by fat-metabolizing drugs like clenbuterol, thyroid hormone (T3), and even the infamous DNP. With these, the fat will literally melt off. Add in some other trickery to manipulate water balance for the show itself, which will help with that ‘dry’ or ‘tight’ look that’s highly sought after, and you’ve got a combo. Muscle is maintained, fat is metabolized, and water is eliminated. With the right drugs, you can literally sit on the couch while building muscle and losing fat; throw in some exercise on top of that and you’ve got a recipe for success that has worked for decades.

cool thanks daz, this is the sort of stuff i was looking for. been reading around a bit and just wanted to know, also competitors with first hand experience who once competed naturally and then enhanced and the significant benefits.

i don't dis-credit any hard work put in by enhanced users im sure the prep would be just as hard they just have the ability to come in looking a whole heap better.

I guess you do get the benefits while cutting of not losing as much muscle and having a really good recovery time rather than waking up really sore, you also keep more strength while cutting back on calories... but over all now that I've done it, being enhanced is a lot more of an effort than natural.. I used to wake up, roll out of bed smash a pre workout, brekky and then lift. Didn't have to worry about pins, swabs, drawing, vials, bloods, AIs, gyno, PCT's etc etc lol
