Selling steroids here? Don't.

We've just banned three forum members for attempting to sell steroids to new members through this site. Two more have narrowly escaped a ban.

Newbies had reported receiving unsolicited PMs, offering them steroids and other prescription medicines. This is in clear breach of our forum rules. I’m under no illusions about members using the PM function to discuss steroids, but such blatant use of the site as a sales tool for dealers is not acceptable.

So I set up a user account, and posted a question in the Steroids forum. I enquired whether a local supplier was better than ordering from an overseas website, but I did not directly ask for a source. Despite this, within minutes of my post, I had been PM’d an extensive price list.

This is not a good situation for anyone.

• It gives our site a bad name, and draws us into matters we’d rather not be involved with.
  
• It leaves newbies wide open to scammers, and therefore product that is more likely be unsafe.
  
• It puts dealers at huge risk of getting caught.

Clearly, no-one wins here, which is why we decided to take the steps we did.

This operation was initiated entirely by us. No other authorities were involved, and we will not voluntarily contact them about this. However, as I have said on other occasions, if we are ever legally required to provide information, we will meet our legal obligations.

What this all highlights is how easily MEDSAFE / Customs / Police could run a similar sting – if indeed they haven’t already. Members need to be aware they put themselves and our site at risk by using it to sell or source AAS.

The take-home message here is this:

If you are selling steroids, this site is not a sales channel for you.

Indeed. As do those that recommend stupidly high dosages purely so they can sell more stock.

Suppliers or dealers, how you define them doesn't matter. Either will be banned if they are reported offering sources here.

I also think you have a fairly romantic view of what lovely people suppliers are. The fact is, they are selling product on the black market, and they do it for a profit. It's dangerous to think otherwise, and pretend these people have your best interests at heart. They generally don't.

Vrod, I really don't think you need to get involved here. Surely you have bigger issues to worry about at present.

The issues I believe were outlined by pseudo and naming members or brands addresses none of these from the forums perspective.

Banning is not only the right thing to do, it's the least that should be done.

Ban them, and tell them if they want to stay in business, come live in Mexico where it's legal.

I agree with the majority of this post but I think it is important to know that steroids arn't bad and they are not a concern and do not harm society but enrich peoples lives.

The only real problem with steroid dealers is that they generally have connections to illegal substances however it isn't all of them and some distributors do have good intentions at heart, my last cycle was done by a person that refused to supply me unless I provided before, during and after blood tests and generally had my health intentions as a concern.

The majority are in it for a buck but some are there to help, however I agree that this forum is not a place to sell as no forum should be a marketing tool for AAS.
