Now that's a poster OB!!!

Derek Pomana = the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.

Great looking lifters list too

Thanks Dan, DP 3 World Titles beat Coan in one  18 World Champs and 5th was his lowest placing, that comp was Yarymbash 1st and Malanichev 2nd.

Just recognizing the History of The CDs and its Lifters. CD champs will have a different legend each Year.

^^ not competing but still trains on n off. With 3 months training he'd stil out total any NZ lifter I'd guess, especially raw.

Mainly he builds & sells houses and still works in the fire service.

Spot on Nate. Derek's one of my sporting heroes - from all sports. I wish I was lifting back when him and Wayne were at their peak - would've been awesome to see them lift live.

Still buzzes me out that he beat Ed Coan at a world champs for the title #TheMan #TheBest

I'm an 85kg half marathon runner these days :pfft:

The old man is back squatting big and must be due for a come back to the platform.

I didn't make it down to THE HOUSE, but awesome coverage on the live stream

Results RAW and Equipped CD Champs 2013

HI All,

Here are the results up for the CDPA 3 Lift Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Champs held on Saturday 27th April.

A Big field for the CDs 51 lifters the biggest yet for the last 10 years. 10 Female lifters which is pretty awesome, also 33 in the Raw Section, up by 20 from last year. The Raw went well with lots of new lifters which is very promising for the Central Districts. And great to see the Masters classes and especially the sub juniors are very strong. We decided the Classic, should have its own section, same as last year with Medals Trophies to suit. This makes it stand out for what it is as we had last year in June. By combining both champs on the same makes for a truly great day of lifting for the CDs.

18 lifters in the Equipped section, a lot who lifted last year with just knee wraps were put into the Classic RAW section.

We started at 7.30am and were finished by 5.30 pm with a 20 minute break for lunch. This was due to the SPEED TEAM our spotters, big ups to these guys. Our Spotter loaders are some of the fastest around, and we had 3 new members so we had a test run the night before. This is the key to a good comp the Spotter Loaders, the comp can drag on or be a great success which it was.

Special Thanks to our sponsors who came on board, as we are hosting the National Powerlifting Champs in August we have saved our sponsorship for the. Thanks to the CDPA lifters for once again not having the lifter packs that they are use too.

And to all those House Members that have helped The House in setting up for this The CDPA Champs and a dummy run for The Nationals

Special thanks to my wife Ruth for her support and helping with all the other details that we forget or I do that make this comp run smoothly. I think this time we were away early but we started on Wednesday. With out her support these comps would not be what they are.

Not to sure what was going on with the House Lifters but we had 2 Bomb and one RD Removed by Doctor

Prize giving went Quick, we are keeping all the Trophy's now and just handing out miniatures. We started with 2 new Trophies for the RAW Best Male and Best Female. As with all best Male and Female trophy's they only go to the OPEN lifters. We have a sponsor hopefully for 2 Junior Trophy's for next Year.
