Why does every one do Deadlift for back why not do it for hammy day legcurls, deadlifts, rope pull thru's and one leg squats all for Hamstrings

I reckon stiff leg deadlifts for hamstrings and conventional for lower back.

I feel a convention deadlift more in more back rather than hamstrings, also don't like to but much strain on my lower back before/after squats.

nothing quite hits the back like deadlifts, well for me anyway.

as JB said SLD deads and romanian deads are more suitable for hammies, not to say that conventional deads are not.

Im the same though after i do deads my lower back feels pretty vulnerable if i attempt heavy squats etc.

IMO, deads is more of a strength base movement, rather than hypertrophy.

You can use it for both; gaining muscle & strength, but almost certain you'll get more out of it as a strength movement.

I like hitting 2-3 reps max on deadlifts (always keeping around 85-92% 1RM), Anything higher is usually when im warming up.

SLD for hammies all the way..........If you concentrate on activating the hammy and the ham glute tie in instead of maxing out on weight you will see (feel :puke:) the best results. In saying that if you can lift heavy and still isolate get into it.
