New Year, New Month to lose weight!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I've been getting back into the gym and I received awesome help for making my program better. This has lead a good friend of mine to commit to setting a goal to getter in better shape :)

Please comment and give suggestions on any part! How the diet can be better, better foods to eat, is there too much cardio?, should weights be included? Anything at all!

Mon 30-40 min jog

Tues Rest

Wed Anaerobic Training - No idea on what we will do

Thurs 30-40 min jog

Fri 30-40 min jog

Sat Anaerobic Training - No idea on what we will do

Sun Rest

From reading post's I see that the key to losing weight is eating right. I came up with this

Morning - Eggs and Toast or Oatmeal

Snack - Fruit

Lunch - Chicken Sandwiches or Tuna and rice

Snack - Fruit

Diner - Chicken

Snack - Boiled 4 eggs

Thank you all!

I'm assuming your friend is just after an "ordinary" diet, not a bodybuilding one? That's not a bad start. Still, bodybuilder or not, I'd probably drop one of the fruit meals, and replace it with a protein shake and a small spoonful of peanut butter. (So we're lowering the carbs a bit, and upping the protein.) Make sure he gets plenty of green veges (broccoli, etc) too.

I think that's a lot of jogging, and while it probably will do the trick, mixing things up a bit will be good for your friend's sanity! Bring him in on your weights workout as well.

Thanks for the reply!

yeah most def, he surely isn't going towards a bodybuilding diet. Thanks for that advice. Having those two anaerobic sessions in there, does that make it more faster for him to lose weight? Would it be better if he only does 30-40 min steady jobs? For the anaerobic sessions I was just think get the boxing gloves on and having him going hard for 30secs then rest 15secs then repeat a certain amount of time....
