Do you think he deserves to be demonized over his doping trials?

Hell yes :twisted: He broke the rules plain and simple. I assume there would have been people in the field of riders who were clean in the years Armstrong won and they walked away with nothing. He needs to be made an example of so future atheletes are too shit scared to try and outwit drug testing agents.

maybe move this thread to general discussion? mods?

He deserves all he gets and more in my opinion.

If he did use, then he's a cheat. It's a tested competition, using PED's is against the rules... it's very clear cut. Most, if not all, were/are probably using... but that's beside the point. Cheating is cheating.

As Terry says, someone needs to be made an example of... and Lance should be it. I completely agree.

Talk about hypocrisy, they've all being doing it, and have been for years... competitor jealousy, they weren't good enough taking their drugs to beat him on his drugs..... plus the usual news media hype thrown in...

I don't really give a shite, the guy must have been unbelievably super fit in the first place plus world beating genetics to start with, drugs would only give him an edge they can't make you what your not.. Instead of complaining, just do what he and everybody else is doing.. (oh they did but still lost)....!!!

Fucking look gay anyway......

WTF thats like saying ronnie coleman & Dorian yates only won because of steroids. They all did it..all of them...the ones who got caught narked on him. Its a part of cycling let them dope there is no point saying that they cant coz they are too dumb to catch them anyway. f*ck the guy tested clean 200 times its a Joke.

After his bust he lost all his endorsements and I think he had to pay back all his winnings. Im sure this may have put financial pressure on him. so what does he do? puts out a tender to his confession? Big O dog gets the job. I wonder how much he made. Bastard

what a load of shit. Don't compare apples to oranges mate. IFBB dosn't drug test and the competitors can do what they like. In the tour they have extensive banned substance lists and drug test accordingly. Lance new the rules, broke them and tried to cover his tracks. You can't say everyone in cycling is doping, no evidence no conviction. there was evidence on Lance and he convicted. They are not "too dumb" cause they catch people out all the time, not always on the spot but it comes out eventually. WADA has a tough job to try keep up with these guys and are usually on the back foot when it comes new drugs and masking agents.

I agree. they are too dumb to catch people. everyone is on shit in cycling. their testing methods are a joke and they may as well not even test them

Absolutely - not because he took the drugs, but because he so vehemently denied it for such a long time.

People generally don't like being pathologically lied to for years on end by their sport idols.

Clean sport is nothing but a myth, an ideal. The sooner people accept reality the better. Look at the olympics, ppl fail tests from 8 years ago when they won 'clean' coz they passed a test at the time.

even if you test 10% of sporting competitors, your catchment pool is tiny. And testing more than this is just too pricey.

And even then, people just 'take time off' or do untested sport, juice up hard for a few years and then clearout, clean up and re register all natty again, even though they are far bigger, faster and stronger than they woulda Ben.

Clean sport- not even once.

However getting the sport clean will be next to impossible IMO. Everyone is looking for the spot light and wanting to make a name for themselves. Why wouldn't people that put all there efforts into a particular sport (especially individual sports) take a little something to increasing their chances to be in the spot light.

Really at the end of the day I'm not sure why PED's are banned in sports.

I don't know about others but I want to see freaks on television smash records and be superhuman. If drug testing becomes more effective I would imagine a lot of sports will become a lot less interesting to watch.

was gonna post the same thing, the better the athlete the better it is to watch imo drugs or no drugs
