Six week journal

i have decided to compete in the nabba north harbour comp on the 20th october. i said i wouldnt compete in a bodybuilding comp again but after reading your guys journals, reading all the comp talk and seeing the pictures its inspired me to want to compete again, so i thought there is no better time for me than at the moment.

i last competed 4-5 years ago mostly as a junior but i never really put much effort into the comp prep side of things was more interested in just getting as big and strong as possible while trying to shovel as many calories in per day aswas possible and always just looked out of proportion and like a bloated mess, i dont really think thats the best approach anymore well not FOR ME anyway. im abit more mature now (just a little) and can completly focus on these 6 weeks without getting distracted or tempted... so f*ck it im going for it!

my diet is very low calorie. im getting my calories mostly from protein, the rest from fats and very few carbohydrates. lots of cardio. at the moment its 45-60mins AM and 30-45min PM after my weights session.

this is my 4th day into it and am very happy with the results so far, but its only early days althought im very confident i can come in very very lean.

ill take some proper weekly progress pics from this weekend and do them each weekend till the show

this morning was 45mins cardio followed by 15mins abs

i will post todays weights sessions later on and todays diet later on also.

took this quick shot in the gym this morning... the 5 week out pics this weekend will be good!

I can't remember where I saw the pics but I'm pretty sure you looked good for not putting much effort in. Haters gon hate but I'll be keen to see how the finished product is gonna look

Good! Lean and aesthetic this time.

Why the very low calories AND so much cardio already? Does starting your preparation at that level leave you with anywhere to move when things get harder?

im abit more mature now (just a little)

Oh, you're going to regret that statement. I've saved it to remind you next time you misbehave.

5 weeks isn't long mate but its a good achievable timeframe for where im currently at and want to be shredded not lean. All or nothing.

I'm used to doing a lot of cardio also.

nice, followed your last journal also. keen to see how this goes.

when you say low calorie, do you have a specific number in mind, or just wing it?

Definitely not wing it bro.

The diet I'm on and been on for last few days is 1531cal so it's pretty low but it's okay I'll wont loose muscle from it and it'll all happen pretty quickly, just gotta be a hermit and do it.

lol u gona be "one of those faggots who eats out of plastic containers every 2-3 hrs" now brah?

am keen to see how u end up looking man whats ur BW atm and what do u roughly plan on competing at?

Well I have divided my total daily food intake into 6 meals but I may eat them in 3 or 4 depends how I feel and what I'm up to that day... I hate Tupperware and lugging a man bag full of that around never been one of those fanny pack wearing homos, never will be. Lol

I weighed last weekend was 94kg.. No idea on weight mate I don't think it matters at all the nabba class is either short or tall! But I know everyone loves talking about weight so I'd say I'll be under 85kg but have no idea really.

Weights not important to me anymore bro. I used to be obsessed with it too.

Time to train now :)

Tonight was back training. I started off with a light set of wide grip lat pulldowns followed by 4 sets of 10 reps then a final set of 20 reps on a lighter weight. Bent over barbell rows were next, one set of 60 kg then 4 sets of 12 of 100kg which felt really easy which is good. Back to lat pulldowns machine for 3 sets of close grip pull downs. Next one arm db row worked up to 45kg for 10 reps each side. Deadlifts now warmed up on light weights then onto 140kg where did 2 sets of 12, up to 180kg for 4 sets of 5 reps. Lastly was seated car row did 4 sets of 12... Back was fucked after that. Cardio after for 20min hard then left.

Bring on tommorow

you gona still be doing your crossfit training? or just focus on bodybuilding training and cardio? and that is fuk all calories too how do you even survive?

anyway be good too see how you end up come comp time the man

Cardio will be LISS and will be training a diff body part everyday so bodybuilding yeah.

It doesnt sound like much but it seems like abit of food the way iv done it. I still get 5 meals Plus a post w/o fuel up so I never feel unstatisfied. Only have cravings at night but if I just go to bed early and stay away from friends offers etc then its impossible to give in to temptation if you don't give yourself the opportunity.

I predict I'll start to feel shit soon but theres not long to go.
