running shoes

so some bugger broke into my car last night, gym bag gone.

insured so I need to buy some new shoes, previously have just bought random 120$ odd nike free run's (dunno anything about running shoes) and they were fine.. but have maybe 200-250 or can probably stretch a little further, if it is worth it.

Can anyone recommend anything? i'm not running huge distances, but alot of sprints etc, treadmill and road running.

Don't buy a racing shoe, although they look cool and are super light they won't last the distance. There are some good new shoes coming out that are very light and offer good support/milage. Of the neutral type of shoe The Nike Air Pegasus +29 or the Nike Zoom elite 5 are excellent shoes.

I suggest going into athletes foot or the shoe clinic and getting fitted for a shoe. You don't have to buy from them although they will try and push you into it, just say you would like to think about it or something. Most people will pronate or supinate to some degree and will strike the ground with different parts of their foot therefore its important to find the right shoe. Your feet will thank you in the long run.

As an afterthought for anyone buying nike frees, they are only suitable for a small subset of people. people who pronate heavily or who have week arches should transition slowly to a minimalist type shoe IMO.

Dirty theives. I had my car broken into a few weeks ago. The only thing they took was my weapons stash. I made a full report to teh police and they can't me. Didn't think they took my list seriously.

Nike lunarglide 2's are awesome shoes. Not sure if they still produce them though.

Bro get the Nike Flyknit racers. SRS!!! best shoe and best Nikes ive ever had. They are expensive and hard to get but gesus!! worth it! I run in them and do indoor sprints in them and they're durable as heck and light??? lightest shoe ever made I reckon.
