Nate busted by Customs for dodgy imports?

Here's my LOL for the day....must be Friday.... :nod:

I ordered a hat from BodyBuilding.com quite a while ago & it hadn't arrived. I tried using the tracking facility but no joy, so I logged on their live help chat service. After a few minutes the response was:

I have checked on your order and your package is being held by your country’s customs agency at this time. They must inspect the order to be sure all products are safe and legal for import. We have sent them all the necessary information regarding your order to expedite this process. As long as all items pass inspection, they should be forwarding the package to you shortly. We will definitely let you know if we receive any updates!

LOLOLOL - very thorough NZ Customs! :pfft: :grin:

Seriously tho, very impressed with BodyBuilding.com's level of customer service, we in NZL could learn some from that!

I had a similar problem ordered some supplements from bodybuilding.com 3 weeks ago asked what the delay was they sent.

Remember that your GM number (GM555************) is more of a delivery confirmation number and not a step-by-step tracking number. Your package may update once it is cleared by customs so keep checking for any updates. We've informed customs officials on the contents of your package, and provided all the necessary paperwork. Therefore, your package should be granted clearance in the near future. Customs will inspect the package to make sure everything is legal and then pass the order on to you. Unfortunately, we can not determine how long they will hold on to the package before releasing it. So I contacted New Zealand customs and they replied right away. They have nothing under my name or the tracking number. I told this to bodybuilding.com they said

I do definitely understand where you are coming from, however in our experience, we do notice that all orders under 4.4 lbs will not update passed their US departure. DHL's delivery time to New Zealand customs is 14 business days max, so your package may have just reached them. These packages are also transferred from Germany to New Zealand, not Australia to New Zealand. Your package is definitely still on the way to you and I do apologize about any confusion in the shipping method. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with! Thank you for choosing Bodybuilding.com! Have a wonderful day and good luck with all your goals.

New Zealand customs have been extremely helpful emailing to my replies promptly and they called me earlier today.

But in the end still don't know where my package is. Ended up contacting DHL New Zealand and still waiting for a reply :evil:

Mate, there was a bog bust in the US years ago, involving some cats and their 'hats'. Bog importation of sombreros. Turns out they had been soaked in dissolved cocaine, and once in the USA were resoaked, and cocaine extracted through dehydration.

I couldn't find the article on it (maybe 10 years ago) but I definitely remember that one :shifty:
