**I started training at the start of August this year. One of my goals was to get 100kg squat. Have done this for 2 reps in 2 months!!! Feeling pretty happy with my efforts. I wouldn't of been able to achieve this without all the help and support from my training partner MONARCHKING! So thank you for helping me and encouraging me and thanks for introducing me into stronglifts in the first place... I am loving it! :)

It's good to see the training that i do during the week has paid off! But still more to come :) .... deadlifting today :D

Unfortunately I don't think we have any more competitions in the Otago region for the year, but Canterbury have one on the 1st of December, a raw competition as well. http://powerlifting-cpa.com/ There's an email address there to contact for more info, or you could ask Dr Squat or Best Bench on these forums for more info about the competition.

Marie Soffe would be a great person to contact about powerlifting in general anyway, and find out what competitions will be on in Otago next year. I'm sure she'll jump at the chance of having a strong female junior join the OAWLA ranks

So i havent written anything for a while so i thought i should get crackin.

I have just recently started the smolov 3 week base cycle. Had one week to go and my lower back has seized up (reaccuring injury) so i am really gutted as i wasnt able to complete it. Only had one more week left so was disappointed but happy with the work i had achieved up until that point. Has been the hardest training sessions i have experienced... so has been really good.

Week 1

monday- squat 70x9 x4

- bench 37.5x6 x6

wednesday- squat 75x7 x5

- bench 40x5 x7

friday- squat 80x5 x7

- bench 45x4 x8

saturday- squat 85x3 x10

- bench 45x3 x10

Week 2

monday- squat 80x9 x4

-bench 40x6 x6

wednesday- squat 85x7 x5

- bench 42.5x5 x7

friday- squat 90x5 x7

- bench 47.5x4 x8

saturday- squat 95x3 x8 (should of been 10 sets)

-bench 47.5x3 x10

AM IN MY 3RD WEEK . STILL CONTINUING WITH BENCH, HOLDING OFF FROM SQUATS.

***So overall body has been feeling good. Suprisingly have not been sore or had fatigued muscles. Saturday was my last day. Pushed myself with 8 sets of squats -(was suppose to be 10) but 8 was far enough. First time i properly used a belt as well. Dont normally use belt but the extra support helped some of the lower back pain. Going to see osteopath this week. It's definitely an imbalance in there somewhere.

Am definitely keen to probably eventually start this 3 week cycle again and actually complete it. I know i can. I was so close! Darn it.

Recently took part in the stronest lifter competition on this page. Was awesome ! Was really good to see other people submitting in their best efforts. Was definitely really inspiring. :)

My lifts were:

SQUAT 95X5

BENCH 50X5

DEADLIFT 120X5

Prep for March 9 comp in Dunedin.

Abby hasn't deadlifted in 8weeks and this was the first time squatting in 6weeks! been sick all last week with no food or training. :( This is obviously not ideal but shit has just happened at the wrong time!

2 weeks prep.

She did a heavy squat and deadlift on Sunday and a heavy squat today and a paused bench.

i suggested she squats and dead this Friday then all next week go a bit lighter.(mayb keep squats reasonably heavy as she seems to respond well to the frequency and higher %)

Also trying to encourage her to eat and drink a lot more even though its difficult after been sick

Any help?

todays 102.5

Squat:

90 www

97.5 www

107.5 www

Bench

50 www

55 www

60 rrr

Deadlift

110 www

125 www

137.5 www

300 total!

Beat the other 2 girls there by 10kg, even though they were a dif class.

LOL on her 107.5 squat she literally jumped off the ground. 120 in there I think :D Stoked as for abby! Lots in the tank and good for a 2week build up!

We might be moving to Canturbary so would love to get in on the East side team :shifty:

Last lift of the day. Decided on 137.5kg for the 300 total...Id say more weight easy!

Wow, superb results, Abbey, be very proud of those achievements.

I reckon MK's right, there's at least 10kg more in that squat...... keep going, could be Nationals in Wellington (or Classic Champs in Christchuch end-Sept) in your future!
