Hey everyone.

After a fair bit of thought I started Smolov this week. My leg size/strength has been my glaring weakness for far too long so...here goes nothing.

I've now done the first week of the Introductory Cycle which was calculated on my 1RM of 160kg (raw).

Day one.

Warmup sets then on to the program.

3x8 -105

5x -112

2x2 - 120

1x - 127.5

Easy enough. Yay.

Day 2

3x8 -105

5x -112

2x2 - 120

1x - 127.5

Not as easy as the day before. Legs started to call me a few nasty names.

Day 3.

Legs were somewhat sore and I was walking a little like a ruptured duck. Told myself to harden up and got on with it.

4x5 -112.5

3x - 120

2x2 -127.5

1x -145

The worst part was the beginning sets of 4x5. My legs were not at all happy with me. Once I got through them the rest was pretty easy in comparison.

So that's the first week done. Next week doesn't look too bad but we'll soon see. Then it'll be time for the Base Mesocycle. Woo.

Well it's been a month since I posted this and sadly the Smolov didn't even really get going. This was due to me coming down with Pneumonia. Bloody hell.

I'm now back to being about 90% so I'm looking forward to starting it again soon. Must increase that damn squat!
