Vader possible pec tear

OUCH. Can't say anything helpful, just ask noobish questions. Why are bruises for a pec tear appearing on biceps?

That's what happened to me, not sure if its blood pooling at its lowest point...

It eventually went black below my peck and also down my arm...

not sure as to the physiology of it but im aware thats where you usually get bruising

in time does it go back to normal or do you have to have surgery to fix it?

Depending on the severity you will be left with a deep ridge across your chest & under your arm-pit, this is permanent without surgery to correct it....

I would advise you visit a specialist as soon as possible to determine the extent of the injury.....

Damn get to a surgeon asap ultrasound/mri will show up the damage and then the surgeon can decide on a course of action. My bet would be that the pec muscle has torn away from the tendon at the musculotendinous junction in the arm pit area where the pec ties into the upper arm. That level of bruising and the tearing sound = pretty extensive damage brah get onto it asap.

How does that end in a tear and not just failure? Would love to learn how to avoid this happening to me lol

Well in this guys case you have to factor in a few things.

1 he is a young feller who was naturally big and strong

2 he is on performance enhancing drugs which again increase strength and muscle growth rapidly. Studies have shown that taking testosterone in the amounts bodybuilders use reduces collagen synthesis by quite a large amount. This means that while the muscles are getting bigger and stronger the tendons are in fact recovering more slowly than normal. (That said if he was on HGH that would have likely offset any reduction in collagen synthesis from the test and actually increased it above normal)

3 he probably trained often fast recovery from drugs = more volume and intensity more frequently = more load on tendons and supporting structures.

4 probably got cocky and tried to go for a personal best and then boom big injury that will take him months to recover from.

This^

Bleeding in the arm is synonymous with a rupture of the pec major at its tendon insertion onto the humerus in the upper arm. Probably off to the orthopedic surgeon young man for a bit of rewiring. Heavy bench press was it? Good luck with that :D
