fat% not sure as yet. Will be using http://www.linear-software.com/online.html tomorrow so will post up.

My aim is to build upper body for strength, health and simply because ive never been built.

I plan to use viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15765

Every second day for a mth while I research my next step.

Will be attacking the gym but want to get some strength and a bit of knowledge before I get down there. Dont want to be totally green lol

Will be increasing my protein intake and trying to get some more carbs in for energy.

Will try and update this log every Sat.

Id like to do some focus on shoulders, neck and lower back as these are all weak points on this abused body so anyone with some ideas to help in these areas let me no.

Anyone that is interested in why ive decided to do this, its all here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15964

Trial run on viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15765 tomorrow to get an idea of time it will take to do then into it on Monday,Wed,Fri. If it is a half hr workout ill try pull of two a day, Once before work once after.

For getting a stronger back and neck you should eventually start looking at deadlifts. Start with that "Workout 101" template for now though so you can find your way in the gym. Other plans you're putting into place are also good. What gym are you going to in Invercargill?

Hey Fella!

I think your motivation and excitment is great but I'd hold back on the two a day trainng for a wee bit just focus on one decent session each day.

But that's just my opinion

Thanks man. I was into it for a week then at work I bent down to pick up a tool and snap. Felt something go in my back and by the end of the day was finding it hard to straighten up.

Went to dock next day and found out I have a prolapsed disk that is pinching a nerve.

Off to physio and they tell me to stop all workouts for now.

3 weeks of work and cant even do a workout. Im gutted.

Hopefully this is not going to be a long term injury.

Im truly shattered. Sick of sitting around eating lol.

I always new I had a week back but never thought it would give up completely.

Im shattered

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaate - that sux.

Having said that, as the medical picture clears, I'd encourage you to keep talking to your doctor.

While I'm no expert, I am sure there are things that you can do in the gym to help keep you focussed, keep the edge going, and so on.

For example, depending on where the disc is, and how the pain from the pinched nerve goes, there are probably some things you can do using machines that support the injury... it would really be a shame if this injury eroded the good work you've begun.
