Deadlift or NOT???

Recommended Posts

Yeah, fix your technique. /thread

thanks for your advice mate, I belive my technique is perfect. As i showed this guy iin the gym. and he said its perfect.

And how much can this guy deadlift, and has he ever been injured while deadlifting? I mean no offense, but I can count on one hand the number of people in commercial gyms I've seen deadlifting with what I'd call good technique, let alone perfect. Mine's not perfect either, but in general most gym goers are crap.

You've been given a lot of sound advice already. I'd say choose other exercise to help strengthen your lower back before returning to deadlifts. Exercises like Cable Pull Throughs, Back extensions, Rack Pulls, Bent over rows etc. When you feel strong enough and comfortable to return to deadlifts, start again very light and have someone experienced monitor your form, or take videos and upload them here for us to critique. Sumo deadlifts are also an option as they put less pressure on your lower back.

Out of curiosity, what weight were you lifting when you last injured your back?

fark it bro, do chinups/pullups, pulldowns, cable rows...personally I love deadlifts but you're not competing as a PL'er, you're just trying to make some gains. You can grow a decent ass back doing chins/pullups. word.

Dont DF because xyz says its good....If you feel confident to do it and you got no pain with it go ahead... get some pro to supervise your technique ...

But if you not planning to compete then FUrk DF ... Work on squat to build mass (much safer than DF) .... work on chins , lat pull down for width(back) .... BB row is probably the best mass builder for back (much safer than DF)....

Yeah DF is a great compound exercise... but if its gona f your back and keep you away from the gym then F it
