Ampoules how to open?

Silly question? :oops:

Have some Depo test 250 glass ampoules- 1ml

How do you get the stuff out?

Has a line around the glass neck to snap off?

I got better at it, however the first few were a mess. Cut myself at least once from memory.

Fortunately an 18g drawing needle cannot suck up glass - I guess I'll never know ...

Crack em open with a bread knife bro.

Knife on one side of the top, thumb on the other, top of the ampoule in between.

Then sort of flick/snap the top of it off. The trick is not to hold it too tight otherwise you will shatter the top and bleed.

Also there is usually a line around the top where the glass is supposed to break.

Takes a bit of practice lol

Where the line is scratch it with something abrasive, then snap off with your fingers.....

Just hold them vertical and snap the top off FAST. Don't slowly bend it down until it breaks, snap it off quickly. I've cut my finger and smashed the things to bits before but most of the time they come of clean. You can always hold them in a tissue while you do it in case they break but not really worth bothering.

On Sus 250 amps, there's a black dot & from memory a yellow & a reddish ring around the amp neck. I was told to put the top of my thumb on the dot & then place the other thumb up against it - so the tips of your thumbs are facing each other.

Then bend the top thumb keeping the one on the dot still. If done correctly, you will hear a "pop". Didn't hear too many of those ... ha ha

Don't forget to hold it by the neck and flick it downwards quite hard (But don't squeeze it hard just lightly) to move the liquid into the bottom as if it has been lying on it's side some will accumulate at the top.

held firmly and snapped neck, works ok

1 1/2 needle seems really looooooooooooooooong when poking into oneself!

first one down, little sore afterwards but within a few mins ok.

Good on ya man ... I got better, but relieved using vials now.

My Dr, who is also an anesthetist, said during a surgery he would have to open at least 5.

No they will break the whole vial if your not careful ..

Like I said earlier use something abrasive to score the glass where the painted line is, it will snap easily as the glass has been weakened...

Used a tungsten tile cutter, or carborundum stone....

A circular disc for this purpose used to be given away with 10 packs of HGH.....
