total newbie question here - but how do you get a full time coach? is this someone you pay or someone who just does it as a hobby / personal thing? yeah i know - got alot to learn in the game :pfft:

I guess I should off worded it better on page one sorry..... I guess where I was coming from on that statement is I come from a training back round of just me and mates so I decided to look into getting proper help Cathy is a 5 Time World Champ and a IPF Hall of flamer, Cathy has tailored a program to suit my weak points and imbalances and techinque issues and which muscles to fire at what time though out the lift... Cathy has picked up things that I have being doing wrong that I would never have picked up or my mates to be fair.... so yes have to pay for it but its worth it if you are interested you can get in touch with her via Les Mills Auckland, Cathy Millen and hourly rate is normally $90 or PM with an email address and I'll ask her to get into contact with you.

Training last heavy squat day just one more at 90% of opener next wednesday then its rest until comp that sunday.

Squats

warm ups raw

60 x 4, 100 x 4, 140 x 4, 160 x 4

add belt

180 x 4,

suits straps down and belt

200 x 2, 220 x 2,

suit straps up belt knee wraps

240 x 3, 247.5 x 1 missed one went onto toes coming out of hole almost pulled it back into line, because my techinque is not right it doesn't take much for me to get out of line.

So I had to repeat the set

247.5 x 2, 252.5 x 1 PR

walk outs belt only

300 x 3

Notes;

strong session; knee wraps are being done up to tight and I'm really fighting to get depth so we loosen them up and bang easy last two sets, can't wait to get this comp done and work on my techinque its letting me down, I'll be back in a year or so better than ever.

Hey Buddy,

thanks mate I had the worst week leading into comp and it didn't improve lifted sick and I looked like death but hey these are the breaks.

Disapointed but hey time to put it behind me and move into stage two...... I had a great weekend meet some new faces and caught up with a few old ones if there was a down side I wish I said hi to a few more poeplethan I did but was really sick so just kept to myself.

I won't bore you with a long write up just the facts....

bodyweight 97kg down about 5kg

best squat 245, best bench 165, best deadlift 245 total 655

Thanks to Cathy and my employers you helped out to no end just wish I could of gone in healthy and posted some numbers I knew we were capable off.

Where to now... well a week off and phase two begins still not sure wether to go under the radar and pop up in 12 months time or log the trip will think about it......

stay the strongest team

all knowledge and experience at the end of the day bro - whats important is you had a go and used the cards you were dealt. Sickness aside your training and devlopment is heading in the right direction and it sounds like you have some good support. Looking forward to hearing about your next escapades anyway - welldone

man that's impressive.

looking at your training log would not have guessed those tbh, did you even try a 165 bench in training sessions?

Big bench for 90-100kg bodyweight

Cheers mate, those numbers were shit mate .... I triple 170 on the bench in training with pauses so was looking at 185 to be fair.... triple 240 on squats and did a fairly easy 252.5kg squat in training was looking for a 262kg on comp day and with deadlift triple 240 was looking for a 260 odd dead.... bodyweight was sitting around 102kg leading into comp week tuesday night fell sick and stayed in bed until I flew out on saturday... lifted sunday sick still and with a lost of 5kg bodyweight and no charge in the body to help pull though made the day hard and long / disappointing... but on the bright side I will be back in 12 months better than ever 8)

I hope you are well big fella catch up soon.
