so how much does it cost people to have a good bulking and or cutting diet,.. weekly or monthly..

im pretty serious about bodybuilding so yeah

im thinking of starting a good diet when i get a apprenticeship job soon so i can buy lots of meat...

ive seen example diets where people have like 600g chicken and 600g beef in a day..so thats gotta be a lot for sure.. like thats goota be $30 a day for meat alone lol

at the moment i dont eat much meat bcus my parent buy food for me and theyre not very rich and neither am i,

and i take these supplements at the moment, i think this is all the supplements i need:

On Whey 3 scoops a day

Creatine

Jack3d (will get another kind now that its banned)

Here's an idea, from my cutting diet, you can work out accurate costs at supermarket & online supp shops, I just made a best guess:

Cup of Rolled Oats, Protein Powder 30g, Banana $2.50

Large shredded chicken & lite mayo can, free veges (cucumber, tomatoes, capsicum, carrott) $5.00

125g Express Basmati Rice, Large tin tuna $4.50

125g Express Basmati Rice, Protein 30g with 200ml trim milk $3.50

Banana, Protein 30g with 200ml trim milk $2.50

250g White Fish, free veges (as above or stir fry veges) $8.00

Protein 30g with 200ml trim milk $1.50

Supps:

Acetyl L-Carnitine (1 cap - 500mg) $0.50

Phenorex or Spirodex or Turbo-Genesis (2 spirodex / 5 phenorex) $5

Vitamin C (2 cap - 250mg) $0.50

Multi Vitamin $0.50

Fish Oil (4 caps - 1000mg each) $1.00

Aspirin (1 cap 75mg) $0.20

Milk Thistle (2 cap - 160mg Silyimarin) $1.00

Joint Formula (2 cap - Hydrolysed Collagen 100mg, Glucosamine Sulphate 400mg, Chondroiton Sulphate 250mg) $1.00

ZMA (2 caps) $1.00

BCAA (5g) $0.50?

I'm guessing about $40 a day supps & food for me when cutting. I have way less supps when bulking but more food - though it's crappier & cheaper.

dayum thats like $280, and one hard out diet,

i would have like $100 left for myself if i had a diet like that.. i mite try to make a similar diet to this.. so its would about $30-$20 a day.

so i probably wont be using as many supps, and use beef and chicken as a substitue for fish, cus fish is expensive rite?

i have weetbix instead of oats

and is Basmati like brown rice.. i kno im such an unawarez...

Nate, that diet doesn't look like a cut nor a bulk lol

It's simple when bodybuilding u gotta sell what u gotta take... Do what u gotta do to get big or get shredded... Sell roids to be able to buy roids sell ur ass to be able to get ass, get big at any cost brahs. Rob the supermarket.

An example of a budget

food -$200/week

gear/olive oil +$1000/week (so u night spend 2hundy week on gear but if u sell a grand worth then ur ahead)

supps -$200/week (+$5000 if u ramraid front window)

nzdating membership -$2/week (but sky is limit for profits)

nzbb.co.nz +300/week scamming

You need to realise that the diet Nate posted above is mostly about convenience. Canned chicken, tuna and express rice etc, you end up paying a lot more for the convenience factor. If you have the time to prep your food, you can eat well for much less.

What's your current goal? If you're bulking you can be much less specific with the foods you're eating and likely end up spending less money for more food, and much less on supplements as well.

It's mostly about getting shredded Phedder!!

But yes secondary concern was convenience - less so the prep time but more so that I often get 5 minutes to eat meals at work between meetings (dont think I've sat down for a meal lately at work!!).

Would be a lot cheaper using chicken breast, bulk rice etc

Bulking - cheap red meats - casserole / mince etc, tons of starchy carbs, and calorie dense foods to fill the gaps.

A good way to save is only buy chicken breast when it is less than ten dollars a kilo. You may have to shop around a bit and follow the specials, and you will have to stock your freezer when you find it but it's worth it.

Whey is cheap as long as you also get the best deals on it. No need to buy the expensive ones.

Go to the supermarket in the hour before it shuts and they often have meat that wont last another day on the shelf well discounted. I often do this and buy loads of pre cooked prawns because the supermarket will just chuck them otherwise. They pack up the ones they have in the seafood display case into big packs for a couple bucks. Surimi is also cheap and tasty

Roasts can be cheap way to get meat and taste bloody good too. Look out for big roasts at 9.99/kg. Can also buy the cheaper cuts of beef like blade steak and make casseroles and stews. Buy rump steak instead of eye fillet too. If you know how to cook it, it comes out very nice and doesn't need to be tough at all. Buy rice in bulk.

Buy chicken with skin on and pull it off yourself if you want. Its usually cheaper. Buy veges from chinese supermarkets and grocers, much cheaper than normal supermarket. Even better, grow the things yourself. Go fishing, hunting, etc, etc, etc

Heaps of ways to save $ on food and still get quality and taste.

Supplements are another story but shop around and see what's out there. I only use creatine, fish oil and vitamins. Never pay more than 10c per fish oil cap and always buy the cheapest creatine by weight you can find. Can sometimes be cheaper to get them in from overseas so dont only restrict yourself to NZ

Listen out for the mad butcher specials on the radio when you drive to work, keep an eye on Pak n Save's meat week deals.. or cement any relationships you have with people who go deer stalking

Know anyone with a boat who goes fishing regularly? Buy yourself some soft bait and take part in the bumper snapper season we're currently enjoying

keep an eye out for good deals on whey protein, or just buy whatever you can find cheaply - this morning I bought a kilo of unflavoured whey from bodybuilding.co.nz for $33
