Day Eighteen

Did sprints again, knocked out eight only just. My cardio is lagging but will hopefully get there once the year is up.

Ive got a 21st this weekend so im going to have a couple of drinks. Im not gonna go overboard but ill have to have a decent sized meal before I go to it so I dont get shitfaced off two beers and have a hangover the next morning.

Dude don't do it.

If you're really serious about this diet, even a couple of drinks is going to kill it. You shouldn't even be contemplating drinking alcohol while doing this diet. Weigh up whats more important to you, and think about why you're doing this diet - you've got plenty more time to get on the chop.

Stick to water and then when you get up for your early morning cardio the day after the 21st, laugh about the fact that all your mates will feel like shite.

One other thing - I'm not too sure about the HIIT training you're doing. Chris Shugart originally said that due to the low carbs to avoid HIIT and stick with more frequent low intensity stuff. It's been a few years since I've looked into this diet, however I have his original eating and training plan that suggests just sticking to fast walks 7 days a week.

Caught your post on friday and I was in the middle of writing a reply but my computer crashed and I didnt have the paitence to do it again.

Anyway I went against what you said and drank... Sorry dude, but it was one of my best mates and it was basically expected of me. It'd have been rude not to share a drink with him seeing as he's only 21 once, but besides that I had a f***en great time and dont regret a thing.

I suprisingly handled my alcohol really well, thought id get pissed on two drinks but lasted the night and had no hangover. I ate an extra meal on Sunday for sake of catabolism and piece of mind but im back on the wagon again.

I got good comments at the party, One girl said im looking skinny but big :) another said im looking big and My mate asked me if I was on a diet or something haha

I hadnt seen my girl all week and she said im looking great so these three weeks have been well worth the effort.

There are a few things that im gonna change with the diet too that I was going to tell you about on Friday.

Instead of transitioning over two weeks im going to slowly add a meal a week over about 4 weeks which'll basically bring me back into proper eating by around Christmas day. So thats one meal a day, then two ecetera

Im only adding an extra 200kcal a week

Im continuing with HIIT as that is what Dan John did and it worked great for him. Sometimes I sleep in and miss my morning cardio which I know is pretty slack but I love sleep. So the HIIT is getting in the missed cardio and taking my metabolism up a notch and im getting plenty of BCAA's to counter catabolism.

Also for my saturday lunch I had a Chicken and Scallop salad and it was like god himself made it. One more week left guys. Ill weigh myself at my workout at lunch time and let yall know how it goes.

Day Twenty Two

Weighed in at 85.6kg today so minimal fat gain if any despite my weekend escapades. Im definetly nearly where I want to be and im confident ill be around or close to a single digit fat percentage by the time the transition back to normal eating comes to an end.

Im flying through my workouts now. Pull Ups are getting easier with each session and im feeling strong.

Ive planned my four week transition back to normal eating, which I think sounds pretty good, it might change depending on things like how they taste or how long it takes to prepare but they are pulled straight from John Berardi's book "Gourmet Nutrition" and add around an extra 200kcal per meal.

For the first week I will add in Breakfast:

Spinach and Cheese omelette with Turkey/Chicken Bacon

Second week will be dinner:

Salmon, Chicken or Steak with Stir Fried Veges

Third week will be the meal two hours before training:

Salmon Stroganoff with Stir Fried Veges from night before

Fourth week will be a post workout meal where I start to add extra carbs

Tuna Burgers and Toasted Quinoa Salad.

Your all probably thinking, woah that all sounds like too much hassle and your probably right, but we'll see when it happens as most people that have done this diet can attest, this diet alters your perception and cravings for food. I cant tell you how long it will last, but the thought of trans-fatty burgers or msg ladden chinese disgusts me. I crave fresh spinach salads with salmon or Chicken Stir-fry. Fresh food is more of a luxury now rather than something that I really should eat but end up neglecting.

Im really exited about incorporating whole foods :D

Berardi's Gourmet Nutrition was my bible when I first started eating healthy... all the macro's were already laid out which made life alot easier!

Is it day 22 already?? Nice work on the workouts dude thumb.gif

Day Twenty Three

Had two heaping Tablespoons of BCAA's (urghh!!)and headed to the the park for my sprints just before 12.

Had a real strange time, the spot I usually do the sprints has some trees that I swear could hide a village underneath them, you seriously cant see anybody as the leaves cover the whole tree from the top to the ground yet theres plenty of space near the trunk to stand around. They run about 40M along the spot I use for the sprints.

Anyway I started warming up and some dude (possibly homeless) pops out of the tree's. I was like WTF! I aint gonna do the sprints here so I ran to the centre of the park near a pond. Anyway he comes walking down to the pond and another dude pops out of the trees :o

I said "Howzit" to him, and get no response, only blank facials.

I proceed to run down further and another fucking dude pops out of the trees. Im like f*ck it and start to do my sprints in the middle of the park. Yet I can see these dudes (spaced about 40M apart) are staring at me while I do them. When I look at them they look away and two of them walked off but this one dude (the first guy) is still lingering around watching me.

Anyway I managed to get out 8 sprints and started to feel a bit fucked up having this weirdo watching me do my cardio so I started heading back to the car. He was between me and the car just staring at me the whole time as I approached him, so I yelled whats your Fucken problem, and he just walked away.

Crazy homeless bums. Needless to say I think im gonna find another park to run at. There could have been 100 other bums under them trees waiting for me to smack him.

On a good note though im getting faster and im not as shattered afterwards

Haha cmon now, I havnt had any thermo's for over a week :P

I havnt got any recent MMA events as I moved a few monthes ago and lost broadband, my Harddrive also packed up which had a few events on it. I think the Semi-Final Pride welterweight was the last event I watched and that happened monthes ago. I havnt watched read or even glimpsed at any MMA related stuff as I dont want to know who wins any events. Im just waiting to get Broadband so I can get all the events I missed (which should be a good 15+ Hours worth)

I do have a few DVD's worth at home, they are all events from last year and about half of this year I think. Mostly Pride and some UFC. Ill get a list of what ive got and post it on here tommorow and I can make a few copies on my Laptop for ya if you want

Day Twenty Four

Workout was great, I was really anxious to get in the gym today so I left a little earlier than usual. I was feeling awesome today knocked out 5 sets of 100kg deadlifts for reps of 5 like it was nothing. I can see myself just getting stronger and stronger over the next few weeks..

Im going to start a 5x5 style workout starting next week and have plans for something BIG! which ill announce over the next couple of weeks.

PS. I had to buy a new belt today as my old one hung an inch or 2 away from my waist :D

Also Ill Post my BF% next monday aswell as my Photos to let you know my final results after the completion of the 28 day main diet.

Though Ill still keep this log updated during the 4 week transition period where Ill try and get my BF% down to 9-12%

PPS. Varven, I forgot to get that list but ive written it on my hand and will get it tonight.

Cheers Guys

Day Twenty Five

Did a short HIIT session, nothing special.

Ive been experimenting with LSA and different brands of Flax seeds. My First Batch ran out so I had to get some new stuff yesterday but the shop had run out of the usual brand. I got ground linseed from Foodtown but it is so thin that it turns the water into sludge and makes the shake taste like ass. Ill have to go on the hunt tonight for something better

Cant wait till Saturday, I think ill go to Gengys again for my weekly meal. Next week I start to incorporate solids into my diet which is Fucken briliant. I honestly cant wait.

I was around 84kg today which is great as I think ive actually gained lean body mass because I hadnt trained for about 4 weeks prior to starting this diet. So fatloss could be higher.

Ill get the BF measurements on Monday, my previous measurements had me at 19-21% Bodyfat at 92kg which was about 3 monthes ago so we'll see.

28 Days

110 Shakes

4 Planned Meals

and 1 Cheat Weekend Later

I weighed in at 85kg yesterday, Im confident that I put on muscle even though I was on such low calories and carbs as I was 85kg at the start of week 2 and from the pictures you can definetly tell that there is continued fat loss on week 3.

I possibly got some carb spill over into fat from the weekend as I missed a few shakes and (dare I say it) ate a couple of cheat meals which made me feel like shit. I think that is why there is very little change in the week 4 photo.

But not too worry, I still have 3 and a half weeks left, and im definetly going to switch things up abit.

Tue, Thur and Sat morning I will add HIIT after my brekfast meal. (I know people tend to disagree with the HIIT, but im getting plenty of BCAA's and my calories are going up)

Mon Wed Fri will be my pre brekfast slow cardio

I have perfected the art of Omelette making and each one so far has been awesome.

Ill continue taking Photos weekly and will post some better poses once the transition phase is up and also im getting my BF% reading tommorow. Which ill also post up

Thanks guys, Ive got 4 weeks PDT so basically another 28 days that started on Monday.

Im looking to get down to 10% by christmas, whether thats attainable im not too sure but ill find out tommorow.

My lifts are going up and I think the additional weekly calories will do my muscles good. And once I add carbs back on the forth week I wont be so depleted which should make for some good photos :)
