Okay so...

I've decided to give Sheiko #29 a go to see what gains I can make in lifting. (Thanks Bar-belle for the idea :P )

Started Thursday due to a hectic week work wise e.g. 12 hour days and no chance to fit in the gym but now sorted out my roster so time to train YAY!

First workout was great. I'm sure i'll get used to the loading/unloading of plates but hey, it'll all be worth it in the end. Right???

Sore for a few days after too.

Next workout on Saturday morn @ 7am. After a little heads up from Bar-belle on how to do these lifts properly, I found this workout challenging but am definately feeling the effects today (sunday). :shock:

I do have to admit that next time I need to read and re-read the workout sheets properly, because this dumbass was following what was written and thought that the number of sets were first (like most workouts) but no... sets are listed second and reps first. Lmao. Now i know. So i can get it right from now on. :pfft:

Anyways I'll keep you all posted to my progress and see you all at the Aucklands on 31 March (hopefully lifting a little heavier too \:D/ )

Well done on starting your journal :clap: - it will be useful, and by year's end you'll look back and see how far you've come.

Oh, and yes, it will definitely be worth it!

If the doc's a little hard to follow, there's a great spreadsheet out there, does all the maths and everything! I can flick you a copy if you like.

The template rocks. Wish I had it from the start.

First week completed yesterday. Not feeling as sore after my third training but that may be because I stretched a lot better after this workout.

Sounds strange but I feel stronger in Bench already or it may be psychological. Anyway felt that my pressing was "easier"

I've taken Bar-belle's advice on board and have been concentrating on form while on the lower percentages which I also think has been helping with the overall lifts.

Only 2 1/2 weeks until my next comp so I won't have completed the whole 4 week cycle by then but would still be interesting to see if I have made any gains.

Have a great week all and I'll keep you posted about how my second week in goes. I train Thursday, Saturday and Monday by the way. Only way to fit in training with work hours.

Nice to see you on here. Was good meeting you at the March novice comp - very good results for first comp..

Finished my second week of Sheiko 29 and just started week 3 today. I'm feeling a lot more confident about my squat and I think my bench may see some gains too. :pray: Will be working out my starting weights on Sunday so it'll be interesting to see if I have made any gains at all.

Will let you guys know how it goes.

Oh and my deadlift is rocking along, but then again it is my best lift out of the three.
